Fishing rod holders and fishing rods including the same
A fishing rod holder includes a tubular member capable of removably holding a fishing rod thereon. The tubular member includes a first annular wall enclosing a longitudinally extending first cavity portion and a second annular wall enclosing a longitudinally extending second cavity portion. The second annular wall includes an internally-threaded end portion at one end. The fishing rod holder also includes a spike detachably affixable to the tubular member. The spike has a stored configuration and a deployed configuration. At least a portion of the spike is disposed in the second cavity portion when in the stored configuration.
Programming interface for licensing
A software licensing Application Programming Interface (API) that allows software products to use the license management functionality of a common service. A license specifies rights in a software product. The software product calls a consume method on the API in order to consume a right. If the right exists, the service binds the right to the license in which the right is found. The software product enforces the terms of the license by granting, or denying, access to some or all features depending on whether a valid instance of the right is found. Arbitrary data can be associated with a right. The API includes a method to retrieve data from a right that has been previously bound by the consume method.
Tubular structure having decorative layer and method of forming decorative layer on tubular structure
Provided are a tubular structure having an aesthetically fine decorative layer with which borders of the layers in a circumferential direction are obscured, and a method of forming such a decorative layer on the tubular structure. The decorative layer includes axial-direction decorative rows arranged in a circumferential direction of a tubular body of the tubular structure. Each axial-direction decorative row includes covering regions that make a surface of the tubular body structure invisible and exposing regions that make the surface of the tubular body visible, and the covering and exposing regions are alternately arranged along an axial direction of the tubular body. An axial-direction decorative row has the exposing regions arranged such that a portion of the covering region in the next axial-direction decorative rows in the circumferential direction is partially situated between the two axially adjacent covering regions in the axial-direction decorative row with a clearance therebetween.

Methods of adjusting stiffness and flexibility in devices, apparatus and equipment
A resilient rod that provides adjustable directional resistance is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod and a position of an applied force with respect to a fulcrum point. In another aspect of the invention, at least one spine may be attached to the beam to increase a diameter of the beam along one axis. A resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod, a position of an applied force and an orientation of the at least one spine with regard to the direction of the applied force. In other aspects of the invention, the resilient rods may be incorporated into various equipment that provide for adjustable resistance levels. In still other aspects of the invention, the resilient rod may be incorporated into medical devices that provide adjustable support for injured limbs or joints.

Fishing pole having integrated weighing system
The fishing pole having integrated weighing system measures the weight of a fish caught by the fishing rod. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system comprises the fishing rod, a strain measurement device, and a control system. The strain measurement device measures the curvature of the fishing rod. The strain measured by the strain measurement device is converted by the control system into an estimated weight of the fish caught by the fishing rod. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system is configured to work with an externally provided remote monitor. The control system sends the strain measurement device data to the remote monitor. The fishing pole having integrated weighing system further comprises a cuff. The cuff is a shell that protects the strain measurement device while allowing for the unhindered motion of the fishing rod.
Casting rod and method of fabricating tip rod of casting rod
One object is to provide a casting rod wherein a tip rod vibrates for a long period of time upon a fish bite. In accordance with one aspect, the casting rod of the present invention includes a tip rod formed of a fiber reinforced resin material into a tubular shape; and a distal end region of the tip rod is provided with a high specific gravity member having a specific gravity three to six times as high as a material constituting the tip rod.
