Fishing rod
To provide a fishing rod having a flexible tip rod less prone to breakage, and desired degrees of the flexibility and strength can be obtained at a required portion of the tip rod. A fishing rod includes a tip rod made of a fiber-reinforced resin material. The tip rod is formed of a short-fiber reinforced resin material in which short fibers are dispersed in a matrix resin material, the average fiber diameter of the short fibers is 3 to 15 μm, the average fiber length of the short fibers is 0.5 to 10 mm, and the content of the short fibers is 3 to 50 wt %, and a periphery of the short-fiber reinforced resin material is at least partially covered with a prepreg sheet in which reinforced fibers are aligned and extended in one direction and impregnated with a synthetic resin.

ILLUMINATING OUTRIGGER TIP
An outrigger tip attachable to an outrigger pole comprises a translucent elongate main body including a proximal end portion having an opening for accessing an inner cavity, and the proximal end portion of the translucent elongate main body being sized and configured for engaging an open end of the outrigger pole. A light emitting diode assembly is sized and configured for engaging the inner cavity through the opening on the proximal end portion of the translucent elongate main body. The light emitting diode assembly comprises one or more light emitting diodes, an input device for sending signals to control the light emitting diodes, a controller in connection with the light emitting diodes, and the controller being structured and disposed for receiving signals from the input device and delivering an output signal to the light emitting diodes, and a battery connecting member structured and disposed for connecting to a power source.
Methods of adjusting stiffness and flexibility in devices, apparatus and equipment
A resilient rod that provides adjustable directional resistance is disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a resistance level may be determined based on a thickness of the rod and a position of an applied force with respect to a fulcrum point. In another aspect of the invention, at least one spine may be attached to the beam to increase a diameter of the beam along one axis. The resistance level may be determined based on the thickness of the rod, the position of the applied force and an orientation of the at least one spine with regard to the direction of the applied force. In other aspects of the invention, the resilient rods may be incorporated into a golf club that provides for adjustable resistance levels.
FISHING ROD COMPRISING MULTIPLE JOINTED ROD BODIES
A fishing rod includes a hollow rod extending along a central axis; and a shaft member with an outer peripheral surface inclined relative to the central axis inserted into the rod from the one end, and that is supported by an inner peripheral surface of the rod at a support position on another end side of the one end in an axial direction along the central axis, wherein the inner peripheral surface of the rod has at least one convex portion protruding toward the central axis from a virtual curve between the support position and the one end position axially when drawing a virtual curve that is convex toward the central axis through the support position and the one end position at the end of the end side of the inner peripheral surface in an area radially outward from the outer peripheral surface of the shaft member.
Fishing rod with a flotation device
A fishing rod with a flotation device including a housing in a handle of a fishing rod body or in a tube attached to the fishing rod body. A flotation mechanism in the housing includes a water dissolvable plug within a front end thereof, a flotation body adjacent the plug, a discharge element, which is a spring or an amount of baking soda, adjacent a rear side of the flotation body, and a nylon cord anchored to the rear end and having a forward end attached to the flotation body rear side. Upon dissolution of the plug, the discharge element transforms from a contracted condition into an expanded condition and releases the flotation body from the housing. As the flotation body rises to and floats upon a surface of a body of water, the housing is elevated to make the fishing rod body accessible for retrieval.
Line cutter for fishing rods
An improved line cutter for fishing rods is provided, comprising a reel seat having a base, wherein the base includes a trigger extending from the base. A slot is formed into the trigger, wherein the slot is adapted to accept a portion of fishing line. A blade with a cutting edge is positioned within the slot, and the cutting edge is exposed to cut the fishing line when the fishing line is pressed against the blade. An alternative design is also provided wherein the trigger is removable from the reel seat base. In the removable trigger, the entire trigger and blade assembly may be replaced, or a blade pocket inside the trigger permits retention and replacement of the blade alone.
INTERNAL LINE TELESCOPIC FISHING ROD
A fishing rod includes at least three telescopic sections: a first section, N0, a last tip section, and an intermediate section. The first section defines a line input passage on the periphery thereof. The rod goes from fully retracted to deployed positions, and a semi-retracted position, called the line input position, in which section N0+i, i≥1, is deployed with respect to section N0 and in which the tip is received into such section. A first retainer abuts, in the semi-retracted position, against the tip to retain the tip with respect to section and prevent it from reaching the line input passage. A second retainer holds the tip in the semi-retracted position when subjected to forces of less than 10 N tending to move it away from section N0, in a location at less than 30 centimetres, from a position of abutment against the first retainer.
