Modularized electrical vehicle supply equipment system
Disclosed illustrative embodiments include docking stations, portable electrical vehicle supply equipment cables, and modular electrical vehicle supply equipment systems. An illustrative docking station includes a receiver configured to be physically couplable with a structure and a source electrical connector configured to be electrically couplable to a power source and the receiver. The docking station also includes an electrical connector configured to be electrically couplable with a portable electrical vehicle supply equipment cable and the receiver. The docking station further includes a communications device couplable in data communication with the receiver and configured to send and receive information relating to use of the electrical connector.
Safely separating plug connector part
A plug connector part for electrical connection to a mating plug connector part is provided. The plug connector part includes a housing and a contact carrier that is movable in relation to the housing. The contact carrier includes at least one electrical contact for the mating plug connector part and a slider that is movable in relation to the housing and to the contact carrier. The plug connector part for includes an elastic element that is supported on the slider and on the contact carrier in such a way that the elastic element is tensioned by a displacement of the slider in relation to the contact carrier.
Power adapter with removable plugs
The present disclosure provides a power adapter including a body and a plug removably connected to the body. In one example, the plug has a second base defining a groove, a housing, and a prong rotatably mounted to the housing. In another example, the body has a tongue extending from a first base, which slides within the groove of the plug to prevent movement of the plug in a first direction. In one example, rotation of the prong actuates a pin held within the plug. For example, the pin recedes into the second base when the prong is in a first position and protrudes from the second base when the prong is in a second position. In one example, the pin prevents movement of the plug in a second direction, different from the first direction, when the prong is in the second position.
Connector and method of use
A cable connector and method includes a female connector and a male connector. The male connector includes a threaded portion insertable through a standard Knock Out (KO) of a panel unit and a nut threaded onto the threaded portion to retain the male connector through the KO. The female connector including a threaded cap engaging the threaded portion to connect the female connector to the male connector.
Toolless direct current connector with ground
A toolless direct current connector includes a frame, a plug, and a toolless component. The plug is in physical communication with the frame. The plug includes a power terminal, a return terminal, and a ground terminal. The plug to be secured within a receptacle of a power supply unit. The toolless component is in physical communication with the frame and with the plug. The toolless component transitions between a locked position and an unlocked position. The toolless component releases the plug from within the receptacle of the power supply unit when the toolless component transitions from the locked position to the unlocked position.
