Tape Dispenser
20170297853 · 2017-10-19 ·

A tape dispenser with a handle providing an optimized grip handle in a parallel axis with the tape spool axis. A burnisher and tape end guide serves as a guard that covers the sharp teeth of the device when in the closed position. As the burnisher and tape end guide is held in the closed position it provides a support surface. This position allows space between the resting surface and the roller which, in combination with the tape end catch and the contact surface of the main body ensures that the adhesive tape does not stick to the resting surface. The tape end catch works in combination with the burnisher and tape end guide, return spring, tape end guide, and formed-in axis, counter-bored hole to capture the loose end of the tape once the blade cuts through the width of the tape.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feeder, a carriage, a cutter, a cutter unit, and a controller. A first standby position and a second standby position are disposed on both ends of a range of movement of the carriage. The carriage does not contact the cutter unit at each of the first standby position and the second standby position. The controller is configured to control the carriage and the cutter unit to overlappingly move. In an image recording condition in which images are consecutively recorded in a plurality of pages on a sheet, the controller is configured to change a direction of movement of the carriage at a leading end of a page so that the direction of movement of the carriage is the same as a direction of movement of the cutter unit at a sheet cutting position at which the cutter cuts the sheet.

Method and system for forming masks
09782788 · 2017-10-10 · ·

A method and apparatus for protecting a structure. A surface of the structure may be identified from a model of the structure. A perimeter of the surface of the structure may be identified from the model. The perimeter may be identified for the surface of the structure to be covered by a masking system during painting of the structure. A two-dimensional representation of the masking system may be generated for the structure based on the perimeter of the surface of the structure. Features for the masking system may be generated within the two-dimensional representation. Identifiers may be assigned to the features in the two-dimensional representation. Instructions for a forming tool may be generated based on the identifiers. The masking system may be formed from a sheet of masking material using the forming tool based on the instructions.

On demand apparel panel cutting

Aspects of on demand apparel manufacturing are described. A system of on demand apparel manufacturing includes a textile cutter and a computing device. The computing device is configured to perform a process including capturing an image of a textile sheet on the textile cutter, where the textile sheet includes a panel for a product. The process further includes identifying cut control factors using the image of the textile sheet, to account for a textile thread, weave, nap, or knit pattern of the textile sheet, a textile print pattern alignment on the textile sheet, or panel deformation of the textile sheet on the textile cutter. The process also includes generating cut control instructions to cut the textile sheet based in part on the image and the cut control factors, and instructing the textile cutter to cut the panel out from the textile sheet based in part on the cut control instructions.

Method for Manufacturing Band-Like Cut Member, and Device for Cutting Band-Like Member
20170274608 · 2017-09-28 ·

(N+1) band-like cut members are manufactured by cutting a band-like member N times along the length direction of the reinforcing cords. At such time, cutting positions are set at locations in the width direction of the band-like member from a first end toward a second end, and cuts are made in the band-like member on the basis of the cutting positions. Setting the cutting positions includes: a step A in which cutting positions of the band-like member are set M times (where M is a natural number less than N) for every fixed first number of reinforcing cords; and a step B in which a second number of the reinforcing cords is set within an allowable number range, and the cutting positions are set at (N−M) locations using the second number such that band-like cut members having the second number of reinforcing cords are continuously produced.

Trim Cover Perforating Apparatus and Method
20170274549 · 2017-09-28 ·

A trim cover perforating apparatus and a method of perforating a trim cover. The trim cover perforating apparatus may have a plurality of punches that may be received in punch openings of a punch lifting plate. The punch lifting plate may receive a pattern plate that may have a set of pattern plate holes. Each punch that is aligned with a pattern plate hole may not perforate the trim cover. Each punch that is not aligned with a pattern plate hole perforates the trim cover.

PRODUCE PREPARATION

It is a system for processing produce comprising a plurality of freestanding pucks for carrying items of produce, each puck comprising a base and a spike extending from the base, the spike configured to pierce an item of produce and hold the item in a substantially fixed position relative to the base.

Automatically sensing consumable components in thermal processing systems

A plasma arc torch is provided for use in a plasma cutting system. The plasma arc torch includes a torch body for conducting electrical current. The torch body includes a torch tip configured to pass the electrical current to at least one consumable component connected to the tip. The plasma arc torch also includes at least one antenna positioned relative to the torch tip. The antenna is used to wirelessly detect the presence of the at least one consumable component. The plasma arc torch further includes a detection circuit configured to permit passing of the electrical current from the torch tip to the at least one consumable component based on at least the wireless detection.

METHOD FOR GENERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR AN AUTOMATED TEXTILE CUTTER
20220305687 · 2022-09-29 ·

The invention relates to a computer implemented method for generating instructions for an automated textile cutter, including receiving one or more orders from one or more customers, the one or more orders each specifying one or more textile products comprising one or more sub-designs; and generating cutting instructions for the automated textile cutter, wherein the cutting instructions are configured to secure that the automated textile cutter leaves a connecting textile portion between at least two cut out sub-designs, when cutting according to the cutting instructions.
