AUGER
An auger includes a body having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, a stem that extends from the first end to the second end and defines an axis of rotation, and a flute helically wrapped around the stem. The auger also includes a shank at the first end of the body configured to be received by a power tool and a cutting head at the second end of the body. The cutting head includes a cutting edge, a spur, a feed screw with a thread, and a cutting face positioned adjacent the cutting edge. The cutting head defines a step at an interface with the body, and wherein the cutting head has a maximum diameter that is greater than a maximum diameter of the body.

Stepped drill bit with alternately sharpened edges to clean-out obscured fastener openings in cross laminated timber joints
A drill bit for use with construction using cross laminated timbers (CLT) is provided. The bit has both sharpened and dull portions of the cutting element of the bit, so that it can clean-out an opening in the CLT that has been partially obscured by shifts in the laminated constituents of the CLT, without elongating or otherwise changing the shape of the fastener opening. The use of the bit is made at the construction site in fastener openings previously made and otherwise obscured, thereby allowing the quick assembly and construction of a structure made of CLT.
DRILL BIT COMPRISING A CENTERING TIP
A drill bit, e.g., a serpentine drill or an auger bit, includes a circumferential chip removal groove helically about a drill axis and a centering tip having a conical shape with an apex on the drill axis. The centering tip has a lateral cone surface that has a taper angle with a centering tip helical thread which spirals helically from the apex down the centering tip in a thread direction of rotation at a tip thread pitch. At least one tip recess is included in a side of the centering tip which provides a cutting edge, and which has a chip transporting shape and connecting to the circumferential external thread. The cone surface includes at least one step in the taper angle of the lateral surface with each step starting at a step-start position and the at least one step continues about the drill axis at least 90 degrees.
Method for producing a cutting tool for the machining of workpieces and cutting tool
The invention relates to a drilling tool (50), in particular a dowel hole drill, for the machining of workpieces, in particular workpieces made of wood, plastics, composite materials, comprising a drill shaft (56) with a front surface (60), and to a drill head (58) with at least one cutting edge (66), which is firmly connected, such as soldered, to the drill shaft (56). In order to make available a drilling tool of the type mentioned at the start, which has a broad range of application and is simple to produce, it is provided that the drill head (58) is formed from a composite material with exclusively two layers (38), namely a hard metal layer (36) and an ultra-hard layer (38) which is connected to the hard metal layer (36) and preferably formed from polycrystalline diamond or polycrystalline boron nitride, that the ultra-hard layer (38) is connected directly to the front surface (60) of the drill shaft (56) and that the at least one cutting edge (66) is formed by the ultra-hard layer (38), and a drill bit (62) such as a centering tip is formed by the hard metal layer (36).
CONNECTING SYSTEM BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF A PIECE OF FURNITURE AND PIECE OF FURNITURE COMPRISING SAID SYSTEM
A connecting system between components of a piece of furniture, includes a pin having a base, a stem departing from said base along an insertion direction and an enlarged portion and a slot made in a second component of a piece of furniture, extending along a tightening direction transverse to the insertion direction and sized to house inside the enlarged portion of the pin, wherein the pin is insertable inside the slot along the insertion direction in correspondence with the insertion portion and is movable inside the slot, along the tightening direction, towards a tightening position. The system includes an anti-sliding device configured to prevent the sliding of the pin inside the slot when in the tightening position.
Flat drill bit
A flat drill bit includes a stem body, a cut flute part provided axially from an end of the stem body and being generally flat-shaped, and a threaded guiding part provided axially from an end of the cut flute part. The cut flute part includes two longitudinal wings which are configured to be rotationally symmetrical to each other about a longitudinal central axis (O) of the flat drill bit. Each longitudinal wing is formed with a cutting edge at the end of the cut flute part from which the threaded guiding part extends. A rotating trajectory profile caused by the cutting edge when the flat drill bit rotates is inclined towards the stem body and is at an angle (a) relative to the longitudinal central axis (O), and the angle (a) is in a range between 84° and 86°.

Woodturning Scraper Handle System
The present invention surrounds a handle system configured to receive a woodworking tool intended for use in woodturning operations. A blade is constrained between two removable handle sides, with the sides being removably interconnected using magnets wherein the handle sides adapted for being separated without the need for tools. The handle system includes the ability to use a double-ended scraper blade allowing a user to configure the blade to use a first cutting edge, or a second cutting edge as desired.
