Method of making thermoplastic elastomer cork composite
12030995 · 2024-07-09 · ·

A method of fabricating a cork composite material and a cork composite material. The method may comprise providing a plurality of cork particles in a volume and adding a dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer to the volume to provide a mixture of the dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles. The method may comprise agitating the cork particles and/or the mixture of the dispersion of thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles and heating the mixture of the thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles. The method may comprise allowing the mixture of the thermoplastic elastomer and the cork particles to cool. The steps of the method together may result in a plurality of coated cork particles being coated in a first layer of the thermoplastic elastomer.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DIFFUSING SHEET OF CORK, DIFFUSING CORK WALL, AND ISOTHERMIC CONTAINER COMPRISING SUCH A WALL
20180311862 · 2018-11-01 · ·

The invention relates to a method for producing a diffusing sheet of cork for an isothermic container, characterised in that a starting sheet of cork with an initial density is compressed so as to laterally increase the density, and to form hardened outer skins with a higher level of diffusion compared to the initial level, and thereby control the diffusion of the compressed sheet.

Closing element for containers and method for producing said closing element
20180273252 · 2018-09-27 ·

The concepts herein relate to a closing element (1) for containers for liquids, in particular bottles. The closing element (1) comprises at least a cork sheet (2) having two opposite main faces (2a, 2b) and at least a layer of insulating material (7), impermeable to liquids and to air and/or gases, coupled to the cork sheet (2). The layer of insulating material (7), at least partly covers at least one of said two main faces (2a, 2b). The cork sheet (2) and the layer of insulating material (7) are rolled so as to define the closing element (1) by an alternated winding of the cork sheet (2) and the layer of insulating material (7), and the layer of insulating material (7) and the alternated winding are configured and predisposed to make the closing element (1) impermeable or to liquids and air and/or gases. The mechanical winding is guaranteed by a partial and spotted gluing of the surfaces, usually only at the external end thereof.

DEVICE FOR COLMATING CORK STOPPERS
20180093290 · 2018-04-05 · ·

The present invention relates to a colmating improvement device for cork stoppers, comprising at least three cylindrical shaped rotating means, able to receive a cork stopper entering in a rotational movement with a slight pressure, which stopper is inserted through an insertion tubular device assisted by two pneumatic cylinders. The device further comprises two openings, an inlet opening and an outlet opening, two electric motors/reduction gears, a worm, a chain and a tank that can contain a substance consisting of a binder and cork dust with a solid content between 50 and 100%.

Method for manufacturing a cap for plugging a bottle comprising cork sheets glued on the two lids and on the roll

A method for manufacturing a cap for plugging a bottle so as to be able to be forcibly inserted into the neck of the bottle, comprising the following steps: cutting cork sheets to be glued on the lids and on the roll of the cap, gluing one of said cork sheets on the roll of the semi-finished cap with a reduced diameter by depositing a binder suitable for food contact, followed by baking, and gluing each of the other cork sheets on each lid of the semi-finished cap with a reduced diameter by depositing a binder suitable for food contact, followed by baking, the semi-finished cap with a reduced diameter being a cap made of crushed cork glued under pressure with a polyurethane binder, having a diameter uniformly reduced by a thickness equal to twice the thickness of a cork sheet glued on the roll.
