WOOD PARTICLE BOARDS
A non-carbohydrate polyhydroxy component(s) is used in a binder composition to facilitate manufacture of wood particle boards.
Binder Compositions and Uses Thereof
The present invention relates to a new aqueous curable binder composition comprising a polyphenolic macromolecular compound which bears a multitude of catechol radicals (dihydroxybenzene), preferably lignosulfonate salts and condensed tannins and mixtures thereof, and a polyamine functional compound comprising primary and/or secondary and/or tertiary and/or quaternary amine functional groups, suitable for bonding particulate matter, such as fibers, more particulary mineral wool fibers, or particles, such as wood particles.
Method of manufacturing a building panel and a building panel
A method of manufacturing a building panel (10). The method includes applying a first binder and free lignocellulosic or cellulosic particles on a first surface of a carrier for forming a first layer (11), applying a second binder and free lignocellulosic or cellulosic particles on the first layer (11) for forming a second layer (12), wherein the first binder is different from the second binder, and applying heat and pressure to the first and second layers (11, 12) to form a building panel. Also, such a building panel (10).
BIOPOLYMER AND ISOCYANATE BASED BINDER AND COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A binder has at least one isocyanate and at least one biopolymer mixed with water. The biopolymer may be a biopolymer nanoparticle or cooked and chemically modified starch. Optionally, the binder may also include urea. The biopolymer and water are mixed, and the isocyanate is added to the mixture. The binder may have a viscosity that is suitable for being sprayed on a substrate to make a composite material, for example a viscosity of 700 cP or less or 500 cP or less at 40 C. The substrate may be wood, another lignocellulosic material, or synthetic or natural fibers. In particular examples, the binder is used to make no added formaldehyde wood composites including particle board and fiberboard. Alternatively, the binder may have a higher viscosity and be used to make plywood.
Method for manufacturing floor panels and floor panel for forming a floor covering
Method for manufacturing floor panels, where the floor panels include a carrier on the basis of thermoplastic material and a top layer provided on the carrier; and where the method further includes at least the steps of strewing the thermoplastic material and consolidating the strewn thermoplastic material; where the thermoplastic material is strewn as a dry-blend.
Biopolymer and isocyanate based binder and composite materials
A binder comprising isocyanate droplets in water, wherein the isocyanate droplets have an average droplet size of 500 microns or less, and the isocyanate droplets have shells comprising a biopolymer or a reaction product of a biopolymer and isocyanate. The biopolymer may be a biopolymer nanoparticle or cooked and chemically modified starch. Optionally, the binder may also include urea. The substrate for the binder may be wood, another lignocellulosic material, or synthetic or natural fibers. In particular examples, the binder is used to make no added formaldehyde wood composites including particle board and MDF.
Triazine-precondensate-aldehyde condensation products and method for obtaining the same
The present invention relates to a triazine-precondensate-aldehyde condensation product obtainable by reacting a) at least one triazine compound of the general formulae (I), b) at least one aldehyde, and c) at least one triazine precondensate of the general formula (II). A method for obtaining a condensation product and a wood based panel are also disclosed.
STAINABLE LAMINATE PRODUCTS, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
The present disclosure describes laminate wood or wood products capable of retaining a wood stain or colorant. The unique resin binder formulations and products include porosity-promoting agents that result in the resin binder having a porous surface capable of being stained with a wood stain or other colorant, while still having the favorable properties of traditional laminate products. The methods of the invention produce a laminate wood or wood product that can be stained with a variety of stains and colorants after manufacturing to suit the individual builder's or homeowner's preference. The stainable laminate products may include a decorative paper layer sandwiched between a backing layer and a resin binder layer embedded with a porosity agent, such as, silica, wax, mica, calcium carbonate, silane, kaolin clay, crystalline silica, corn starch, feldspar, talc, or combinations thereof. The stainable resin binder layer optionally has a textured top surface.
AQUEOUS WAX EMULSIONS AND DISPERSIONS AND USES THEREOF
An aqueous wax emulsion or dispersion comprising, wax, water and an emulsifier wherein the emulsifier comprises purified kraft lignin and a water-soluble base. A process for preparing said aqueous wax dispersions and their use.
