COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
Disclosed herein are composite materials comprising a fibrous material and from 1% to 50% of a binding material, by weight of the composite material. Also disclosed herein are methods for making and using the same.
Bending wood laminate and bent shaped part produced therefrom
A pliable bentwood laminate with an intermediate layer (2) forming a central layer, having first and second surface sides, a first outer timber layer (3) on the first surface side, and a second outer timber layer (4) one the second surface side, wherein the distance between the outer surface of the first and second outer timber layers (3, 4) is at least 8 mm, wherein the first and the second outer timber layers (3, 4) are formed from rotary cut balsawood veneer, wherein density of the first and second outer timber layers (3, 4), with a residual moisture content of 12% by weight with respect to the timber mass, is less than 200 kg/m.sup.3, wherein the first and second outer timber layers (3, 4) have lathe checks (5) on one surface side, wherein the first and second outer timber layers (3, 4) are arranged with the surface side having the lathe checks (5) faces away from the intermediate layer (2), wherein the bentwood laminate can be and/or is curved with an inner bending radius of between 100 mm and 250 mm, wherein the intermediate layer is a directional timber layer, a natural axis of the bentwood laminate runs in the intermediate layer, and wood grain of the directional intermediate layer runs at right-angles to longitudinal extent of the lathe checks (5).
COMPOSITE WOOD PANELS WITH CORRUGATED CORES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A composite wood panel is manufactured from thin wood laminae cut from wood unsuitable for peeler logs or dimensional lumber. A cold set adhesive is applied to the wood laminae and they are formed into a randomly oriented mat that is cold rolled into a thin, pliable cold rolled stock that can be corrugated. A hot set adhesive may also be applied to the laminae to improve strength of the composite wood panel. The hot set adhesive is set in a hot press after the cold rolled stock is produced.
Natural fiber plastic composite precursor material for compounding, method for preparing thereof and method for preparing natural fiber plastic composite product
The present disclosure relates to a natural fiber plastic composite precursor material comprising 80-95% (w/w) cellulosic fibers having an average fiber length less than 1 mm, 3-7% (w/w) coupling agent, 0-7% (w/w) thermoplastic polymer, and 0-1% (w/w) lubricant and/or wax, wherein the material is in form of pellets having a bulk density in the range of 300-700 g/l, and to a method for preparing thereof. The present disclosure also relates to a method for preparing a natural fiber plastic composite product.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A CELLULOSE PRODUCT BY A PRESSURE MOULDING APPARATUS, PRESSURE MOULDING APPARATUS AND CELLULOSE PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a cellulose product having a flat or non-flat product shape by a pressure moulding apparatus comprising a forming mould. The forming mould has a forming surface defining said product shape, The method comprises the steps of:
arranging a cellulose blank containing less than 45 weight percent water in said forming mould; heating said cellulose blank to a forming temperature in the range of 100° C. to 200° C.; and pressing said cellulose blank by means of said forming mould with a forming pressure acting on the cellulose blank across said forming surface, said forming pressure being in the range of 1 MPa to 100 MPa.
Lightweight construction board containing wave-like elements
A lightweight building board element, wherein the element has the shape of a first spatially extending wave, wherein the upper side of said element has at least one wave peak and the lower side of said element has at least one wave trough, wherein the first wave expands transversally or radially, and wherein the at least one wave peak and the at least one wave trough exist in the form of a second wave, and wherein the lightweight building board element contains or consists of bonded wood fibers or bonded wood shavings or bonded wood fibers and wood shavings.

MAKING PROFILE-EDGE CONSTRUCTION BOARD
Construction board is made by first hot-pressing particles in a continuous belt press to form a longitudinally extending, continuous and hot composite strand that is conveyed downstream from the press. Before substantial cooling of the boards and while it is at a predetermined temperature above ambient temperature, an edge of the strand is profiled into a nonsquare profiled contour. Then the strand is transversely severed to form a succession of boards.
