Composite structure reinforcement utilizing thermal properties of forming elements
Forming systems and assemblies as disclosed herein comprise a composite material comprising a structural component and a resin component combined with the reinforcing component. A forming element is disposed within the composite material and has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is greater than that of the composite material. The forming element is positioned to provide a desired integral structural reinforcement and/or surface feature to the composite. The composite material may comprise one or more passages extending from a surface thereof to the forming element. The composite material may be cured by heat to take a set configuration and then allowed to cool. The cooling of the composite material and the forming element enables the forming element to contract relative to the composite material and become delaminated therefrom to facilitate easy removal, and thereby provide an improved method and assembly for making structural reinforcing features in composite structures.
Pouch forming apparatus and method
To solve the above problem, a pouch forming apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a die in which a forming space is recessed inward from a top surface thereof; a partition wall partitioning the forming space into first and second forming spaces; a stripper disposed above the die and configured to descend to contact the die with the pouch film therebetween to fix the pouch film to be seated on a top surface of the die; and an electromagnetic force generation part disposed above the forming space and configured to generate electromagnetic force and configured to apply the electromagnetic force to the forming space.
Integral Anti-Rollback for Injection Molded Tape Dispensers
A tape dispenser system includes a monolithic plastic injection molded frame with an integral anti-reverse rotation pawl. To help prevent the free end of a roll of tape from accidentally retracting, falling back, and frustratingly bonding onto the coiled portion of the tape, the pawl engages the inner diameter of a cardboard spool that holds the roll of tape. Strategically located mold parting lines and certain air gaps allow injection molding of a dispenser frame that has two spool-supporting sidewalls plus the integral pawl.
SELF PRESSURIZING BLADDER TOOLING
A method of fabricating a composite structure includes laying at least one composite ply about a bladder, the bladder comprising a phase change material in a first phase having a first volume, positioning an outer mold about the bladder and the at least one composite ply, and curing the at least one composite ply to form the composite structure. Curing causes the phase change material contained within the bladder to change to a second phase to expand from the first volume to a second volume and apply a pressure to an interior surface of the composite ply and press an outer surface of the composite ply against the outer mold to form an interior cavity. The bladder is not removable from the formed interior cavity.
Adaptive writing utensil
A writing utensil adapted for promoting the development of a tripod writing grip includes an elongate body having a substantially polygonal cross section, and having three faces extending between a proximal end and a distal end thereof, and a boss member extending from an intermediate portion of the elongate body, the boss member being adapted for impeding a user's fingers from sliding along a longitudinal axis of the elongate body.
Bicycle wheel rim
A composite rim for a bicycle wheel that has a wall of structural fibers incorporated in a thermosetting polymeric material and a plurality of spoke attachment seats. The composite material includes at least one layer of woven bi-directional fibers where some fibers are in a nominal direction substantially parallel to the circumferential direction of the rim and some fibers are substantially orthogonal to the circumferential direction of the rim.
Non-corrosive, Double Gooseneck, Gaseous Pressure Equalization Vent for Large Liquid Storage Tanks
A vent structure for large volume liquid storage tanks having a double gooseneck shape with vent openings facing downward, formed as a single structure from a mold tool with multipart extractable cores for forming the structure from corrosive resistant materials without a need for substantial post machining.
Tooling assembly and associated system and method for manufacturing a porous composite structure
A tooling assembly for manufacturing a porous composite structure. The tooling assembly includes a first tooling member and a second tooling member. The first tooling member includes a first body that defines a first internal volume and a first inlet. The first inlet is fluidly coupled with the first internal volume. The first tooling member also includes a first tooling surface that defines a plurality of first perforations that are fluidly coupled with the first internal volume. The second tooling member includes a second body that defines a second internal volume and a second inlet. The second inlet is fluidly coupled with the second internal volume. The second tooling member also includes a second tooling surface that defines a plurality of second perforations that are fluidly coupled with the second internal volume.
Device and method for producing a particle foam part
The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a particle foam part. The device comprises a molding tool (3) which delimits a molding chamber (14), wherein at least two capacitor plates (15, 16) are arranged adjacently to the molding chamber, said plates be connected to an RF radiation source. The RF radiation source is designed to dispense RF radiation, and the molding tool (3) has means for controlling the temperature of the molding tool in the region of an inner delimiting surface (19) delimiting the molding chamber (14) and/or for supplying a heating medium to the molding tool region lying against the inner delimiting surface.
Optical element, mobile phone cover plate and mold for manufacturing optical element
An optical element (100c), a mobile phone cover plate covering the optical element (100c) and a mold for manufacturing the optical element (100c). The optical element (100c) comprises: plural texture patterns (1c), at least one of the plural texture patterns (1c) having a concave structure or a convex structure, the at least one texture pattern (1c) containing at least one sub-texture pattern unit (11c, 12c), wherein the at least one texture pattern (1c) is of a curved shape. Hence, the texture patterns may produce a light shadow effect, which have a good visual effect, and when they are applied in the field of decoration, they are able to enhance a decoration effect, and make the decoration rich in visual senses and pictures vivid.
