Method for fabricating a catheter including providing an inner tubular member formed from a first polymeric material, the inner tubular member having a distal section, a distal end, and a lumen defined therein by a first inner diameter; necking down at least a portion of the distal section of the inner tubular member to form a necked tip having a second inner diameter; and removing a portion of polymeric material from an inner surface along the necked tip to define a third inner diameter for the necked tip. The method can include positioning the distal section of the inner tubular member in a balloon having a working length, a distal neck, and a distal leg, with the distal end of the inner tubular member extending distally beyond a distal end of the distal leg, and coupling the distal leg of the balloon to at least a portion of the distal section of the inner tubular member.

HEATSEAL
The present invention relates to systems and methods to facilitate replacement between runs of a kit or cassette from an automated radiosynthesis device located in a hot cell. The method and apparatus of the invention enable automated disconnection of the outlet line by sealing the tubing hermetically by means of heat and by cutting the tubing where it is sealed in such a way that there is no risk of environmental contamination with radioactive material. The invention enables disconnection of the outlet line without manual intervention before opening the shielded enclosure.
Composite connectors and methods of manufacturing the same
A method of manufacturing a composite (e.g. fibre-reinforced polymer) connector for a fluid transfer conduit includes: manufacturing a continuous fibre pre-form net that is shaped to comprise a hub-forming portion 156 and a flange-forming portion, the continuous fibre pre-form net comprising continuous fibre reinforcement and a common support layer to which the continuous fibre reinforcement is secured by being stitched thereto; placing the continuous fibre pre-form net into a mould, the mould being shaped such that the hub-forming portion forms a tubular hub portion which extends along a central axis and the flange-forming portion forms a flange portion which extends from the hub portion at an angle to the central axis; and introducing polymer into the mould so as to form a composite connector comprising the flange portion and the hub portion.

PEX tubing expander head
An expansion toolhead configured to enable the expansion of multiple different sized diameters of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) tubing with a single expansion toolhead. The expansion toolhead including a cap operably coupled to an expansion tool, and a plurality of jaws forming a 360 degree jaw section operably coupled to the cap, each of the plurality of jaws including an expansion tool interface portion forming a conical recess enabling a cone-shaped wedge of the expansion tool to move the jaw section between an unexpanded position and an expanded position, and a PEX tubing interface portion having a distal end, a proximal end and a plurality of lands positioned therebetween configured to form a corresponding plurality of substantially uniform diameter portions of the jaw section sequentially increasing m diameter between the distal end and the proximal end for the expansion of multiple different standard sized diameters of PEX tubing.

A method for making a cap for a container that includes the steps of inserting in a mould a material in a solid state or a solid dispersed in a liquid, the material containing at least 70% cellulose by weight; pressing the material in the mould to obtain a cup-shaped component, the cup-shaped component having a skirt which extends around an axis and an end wall which closes the skirt at one end thereof; making on the skirt a breakable line which at least partly surrounds the axis to define on the cup-shaped component a closure body and an annular band; and folding a portion of the annular band inwards towards the inside of the cup-shaped component, to obtain at least one retaining element which projects inwards towards the inside of the annular band so as to keep the annular band joined to a neck of the container.

A fluid conduit for aircraft, the conduit having a pipe made from thermoplastic material having a connection end which extends along a pipe axis and a connector which is intended to be mounted in the connection end by a translational movement along the pipe axis in a downstream direction, the connector having a joining portion which extends longitudinally along the connector axis and which is configured to extend into the connection end, the joining portion having a free longitudinal end which is chamfered, the free longitudinal end being configured to be radially deformed after the connector is mounted in the connection end, which has been thermally expanded beforehand, so that the conduit has an internal surface which has an internal radius which is substantially constant at the interface between the connector and the pipe.
