A tipping livestock handling apparatus is provided which includes a support frame positioned on the ground. A squeeze chute or other type of animal handling chute is positioned on the chute frame. The chute is pivotally secured to the support frame and is pivoted between an upright position and a horizontally disposed position by way of hydraulic cylinders so that the legs and feet of the animal in the chute are accessible for treatment.

Apparatus, systems and methods are provided for trimming a hoof of a horse. The apparatus is an adjustable cutting guide that includes a hoof band configured to extend around the hoof. The hoof band includes an identifier for aligning the hoof band with a mark on the hoof indicating a longitudinal axis of a leg of the horse and a cutting edge providing a cutting plane for a cutting tool. The cutting plane is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the leg of the horse. The cutting guide also includes a clamping structure for adjustably clamping the hoof band to the hoof at a user selectable, fixed position above a sole of the hoof when the hoof band is aligned with the mark. The systems include the cutting guide, a marking tool and an alignment tool.

Height-adjustable first and second poles alternately engage with the first rod. A U-shaped hoof cradle is disposed atop the first pole. A disc-shaped finishing stand is disposed atop the second pole. The wheeled pedestal has a tapered second rod vertically disposed thereon with a grooved handgrip proximal an upper end thereof. Each tray has a central orifice that slidingly engages the second rod to a point in which the second rod has a diameter larger than the central orifice.

A partially closable front gate closes the front opening and restrains the head of the animal, and a curved rear pusher gate secures the hindquarters of an animal. A rotatable belly restraint pins the animal to one of the sides. The chute is rotatably mounted on a vehicle or platform to lay the animal on its side. The chute includes four hydraulic activated leg latches for securing the legs of the animal. There is a movably attached staging area located at the rear of the chute to allow for the positioning of animals waiting to enter the chute. Each of the movable components of the chute are hydraulically and remotely controlled.
