Prepreg, method for its production, and fiber-reinforced molded product
To provide a prepreg excellent in storage stability and capable of obtaining a fiber-reinforced molded product excellent in impact resistance, and a method for its production, as well as a fiber-reinforced molded product excellent in impact resistance. The prepreg comprises reinforcing fibers and a matrix resin, wherein the matrix resin comprises a thermoplastic resin (but excluding the following fluororesin) and a melt-formable fluororesin having a melting point of from 100 to 325 C. and having functional groups of at least one type selected from the group consisting of carbonyl group-containing groups, hydroxy groups, epoxy groups and isocyanate groups, and in 100 mass % of the total of the thermoplastic resin and the fluororesin, the proportion of the thermoplastic resin is from more than 30 to 99 mass % and the proportion of the fluororesin is from 1 to less than 70 mass %.
MAT SEAL FOR AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
A mat seal for an electrical connector includes a plurality of through-holes extending in a through-hole direction through the mat seal, a grid of a first material having a plurality of grid meshes, the grid is arranged with the through-holes extending through the grid meshes, a first material layer of a second material disposed on a first side of the grid, and a second material layer of a third material disposed on a second side of the grid opposite the first side. The first material of the grid has a greater compression modulus than the second material of the first material layer and the third material of the second material layer.
PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH MOLDED FOAM BACKING
A seat trim cover having a 3-dimensional shape for an automotive vehicle seat is formed by pre-cutting a laminate blank into a predefined shape having a predefined selvage extending around an outer periphery of the laminate blank, vacuum forming the laminate blank in a 3-dimensional mold to form a 3-dimensional laminate blank, and forming a molded foam backing on the 3-dimensional shaped laminate blank to form the seat trim cover. The molded foam backing has an outer perimeter that is spaced apart from the predefined selvage such that the predefined selvage is free of foam.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A FIBROUS COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPONENT
A method for producing a fibrous composite material component, in particular for a vehicle. According to the method, at least one dry woven fabric layer is initially provided, wherein the woven fabric layer includes carbon fibers. A binder is then applied to the woven fabric layer. Further, the woven fabric layer is reshaped into a preform layer, wherein the binder is activated during the reshaping and the woven fabric is stabilized in the reshaped shape. The preform layer is then applied to further woven fabric layers in order to strengthen the shape. The connection of the preform layer and the further woven fabric layers thus results in a preform, which is inserted into a molding tool for carrying out an RTM process. Then, the RTM process is carried out in order to obtain a fibrous composite material component.
VEHICLE DOOR MODULE
A vehicle door module includes a textile overmolded with a first thermoplastic composition to form a unitary frame, wherein the textile includes reinforcing fibers and a second thermoplastic composition.
TOPSHEETS INTEGRATED WITH HETEROGENOUS MASS LAYE
An absorbent article and method of making the absorbent article are disclosed. The absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core structure having one or more layers wherein at least one layer is a heterogeneous mass layer, wherein the topsheet and the heterogeneous mass are integrated such that they reside in the same X-Y plane.
ABSORBENT CORE FOR DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT ARTICLE
A method of integrating a first fibrous web with a second fibrous web, said method comprising the steps of: a. providing a first absorbent fibrous web material; b. providing a topsheet comprising a second fibrous web material; c. providing an integrating means; and d. integrating said first absorbent fibrous web material and said second fibrous web material by processing through said integrating means. The step of integrating said first absorbent fibrous web material and said second fibrous web material comprises inter-entangling fibers from the first absorbent fibrous web and fibers from the second fibrous web.
Chemical barrier fabric
A chemical barrier fabric and a method of manufacturing the fabric is provided. The chemical barrier fabric includes at least first and second chemical barrier layers which have an interfacial region therebetween and which are intermittently point bonded providing a point-bonded area which is in the minority and an un-bonded area which is in the majority in the interfacial region. The chemical barrier layers typically comprise single layer polymer films and/or co-extruded layers. A non-woven layer may also be point-bonded to either the first or the second chemical barrier layer to give support to the fabric.
Method for manufacturing by injection, a part made of a plastic material including a technical face incorporation a reinforcing element
This process for manufacturing a plastic part (1) having a first technical face and a second face, in a mold comprising a first shell intended to form the first face endowed with impressions intended to form technical members of the technical face and a second shell intended to form the second face, the first shell and the second shell delimiting a cavity that forms the part (1), comprises the following steps:providing a porous reinforcing element (3);draping the reinforcing element (3) over the first shell by covering the surface of the first shell and the impressions intended to form the technical members;retaining the reinforcing element (3) on the first shell by retaining means;bringing the first shell and the second shell together;injecting a plastic in order to fill the cavity, the plastic passing through the porous reinforcing element (3) in order to fill impressions intended to form the technical members;moving the first and second shells apart;ejecting the plastic part (1).
In-situ pressure enhanced processing of composite articles
A method for making a composite article comprises securing a layup over a form. The layup including a plurality of dry intermediate reinforcement plies wrapped around an inner reinforcement ply. Resin is infused into the layup under vacuum. The resin-infused layup is consolidated under pressure and cured.
