Tamper evident tabbed sealing member having a foamed polymer layer
A pull-tab sealing member for a container providing a foamed polymer layer positioned within the sealing member for effective heat sealing to the container together with a lower laminate below a tab capable of tearing to provide a tamper evident structure below the tab.
Thin Resin Films and Their Use in Layups
The disclosure provides an improved resin film product is comprised of a partially cured b-staged resin film that has a thickness in the range of 1 mils to about 10 mils and that is disposed between two protective layers, as well as methods for their manufacture and use in the production of layups used to manufacture printed circuit boards.
Building membrane with porous pressure sensitive adhesive
A breathable multilayer spun bonded polypropylene membrane having a coated pressure sensitive adhesive capable of allowing air and moisture vapor to pass through it. The adhesive is formed of a copolymer comprising a backbone of n-butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and vinyl acetate which is mixed with a surfactant and emulsified to produce bubbles which form pores when the copolymer is set with about 80% to about 90% of the pore sizes ranging from about 200 microns to about 300 microns and a pore density in the cured pressure sensitive adhesive ranging from about 4200 per inch.sup.2 to about 4600 per inch.sup.2, said pores being uniformly distributed to form a flow path through adhesive.
Moulding material for composite panels
The present invention describes a prepreg for the manufacture of fibre reinforced resin matrix composite materials, the prepreg comprising: a surface film comprising a thermosetting resin and a particulate filler material dispersed therein, and a fibrous layer on which the surface film is disposed, the fibrous layer comprising a plurality of non-woven carbon fibres which are substantially randomly oriented, wherein the fibrous layer has interstices between the carbon fibres dimensioned for absorbing at least a portion of the thermosetting resin during a resin infusion step and filtering at least a portion of the particulate filler material in the surface film to remain in the surface film during the resin infusion step.
Composite binding materials
A metal composite including an oxidized base metal and a fibrous composite material coupled by a self-assembled monolayer and adhesive is described. Additionally, a method of constructing a metal composite is described, wherein the method includes oxidizing a metal, depositing a self-assembled monolayer, and adhering a fibrous composite to the monolayer.
Thermoplastic epoxy materials with core shell phase
A composite article (30), comprising at least one fibrous layer (12), and at least one thermoplastic epoxy web layer (14) located in direct planar contact with the at least one fibrous layer (12), the at least one thermoplastic epoxy web layer (14) being adapted to substantially phase separate during a molding and/or curing process.
Flexible PCM sheet materials
The invention relates to flexible PCM sheet materials having a high latent thermal energy storage density for the purpose of heat management. The flexible PCM sheet material includes a flexible supporting structure and phase-change-material elements arranged thereon separately in a specific geometry. The phase-change-material elements are geometrically defined structures composed of polymer-bound phase-change material. The flexible PCM sheet materials are characterized by a high latent heat storage capacity and optimized thermal conductivity, are dimensionally stable even in the event of temperature changes and after phase transitions, can be rolled, folded, wound, or cut to size without problems, and can be transported, stored, processed, or used in a single layer or in multiple layers.
Biodegradable cellulose fiber-based substrate, its manufacturing process, and use in an adhesive tape
A biodegradable cellulose fiber-based substrate, at least one side of which is coated with a release coating including: a) at least one water-soluble polymer (WSP) containing hydroxyl groups, and b) at least one lactone substituted with at least one linear or branched and/or cyclic C.sub.8-C.sub.30 hydrocarbon chain which may contain heteroatoms. The biodegradable substrate is certified biodegradable in accordance with EN 13432. A method of production thereof is also disclosed.
Structural element
A structural element, in particular for an aircraft, such as an airplane, contains a laminate having a plurality of layers made of a fiber composite plastics material with carbon fibers, a lightning protection layer and optionally an electrically insulating dielectric protection layer. The laminate contains at least one hybrid layer, which comprises a carbon fiber-absorption fiber composite, the elongation at break of the absorption fiber being greater than the elongation at break of the carbon fibers.
Structural composite component and method for configuring a structural composite component
A structural composite component, in particular for an aircraft or spacecraft, includes: a lightning strike protection layer; and a composite battery including a cathode layer and a separation layer, wherein the lightning strike protection layer is formed integrated with the cathode layer, and wherein the separation layer is configured for providing acoustic damping, and/or fire barrier, and/or impact resistance to the structural composite component. A method for configuring such a structural composite component; and an aircraft or spacecraft including such a structural composite component are also described.
