Fabrication of composite laminates having thin interlayers
A method of fabricating a composite laminate comprises forming a stack including first and second fiber beds and an interlayer between the fiber beds. The fiber beds are impregnated with matrix resin. The interlayer includes a soluble thermoplastic component on an insoluble component. The method further comprises dissolving the soluble thermoplastic component into the matrix resin to reduce thickness of the interlayer.
COMPOSITE ARTICLE FOR MAINTAINING AND CLEANING HARD SURFACES
The invention provides an article of manufacture useful for simultaneously maintaining, cleaning and polishing hard surfaces comprising independently a driver element composite pad comprised of a top non-woven layer and one or more non woven bottom layers laminated together with an adhesive interlayer, said composite pad having a central opening extending through all the layers and one or more equidistant or non-equidistant openings on the top nonwoven layer therein and polishing inserts elements disposed in said equidistant or non-equidistant openings. The invention also provides a kit for polishing hard surfaces comprising: (a) a driver element having a central opening and one or more equidistant or non-equidistant openings; (b) polishing inserts elements for said driver element having equidistant or non-equidistant openings; and wherein said kit provides a hard surface with a consistent and improved surface smoothness and reflected image quality.
FILM ROLL AND FILM BUNDLE
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a storage state in which a reactive compound layer can be stably maintained in a polymer film having a reactive compound layer on the surface. The film roll is obtained by winding together: a first polymer film having a reactive compound layer on the surface, and a second polymer film having a surface roughness (Ra) of 0.1 m or more and a modulus of elasticity of 300 MPa or more and 10 GPa or less. The film bundle is obtained by laminating the first and second polymer films. Preferably, storing the film roll and the film bundle at a low temperature enables a thin layer of a reactive compound to be stably maintained.
FOAMED SHEET COMPRISING TPE AND THE PRODUCTS RESULTING THEREFROM AND THE PROCESS OF MAKING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a multilayer sheet comprising TPE (e.g., TPO) with at least one solid layer, and at least one foamed layer on the opposite side or one side of the solid layer. The web can be up to 3.2 meters wide with a gauge variation of less than 1%, and the average variation of the weight per unit area (gr/m.sup.2) of the sheet across the web is less than 2%. The foam sheet of the present invention can have an overal thickness of less than 50 mils with a bending stiffness value of less than 5, in Taber stiffness unit configuration according to TAPPI/ANSI T 489 om-15.
Liner tube for sewer rehabilitation and method for producing same
A liner tube (1) for rehabilitating sewers and water drainage ducts, with an inner film tube (2), a first layer (4) arranged thereon made of nonwoven material, and a second layer (6) made of glass fiber material and arranged on the layer (4) made of nonwoven material, is characterized in that the first layer (4) contains at least one overlapping wound strip made of nonwoven material, which is impregnated with a fluid reaction resin which can be cured by light or heat, and in that the second layer (6) contains at least one first strip (6a) which is impregnated with a fluid reaction resin and made of glass fiber material, which has glass fibers (8) extending in the longitudinal direction of the liner tube. The invention furthermore relates to a method for producing a liner tube of this kind.
PASSIVE ANTI-ICING AND/OR DEICING SYSTEMS
A passive anti-icing and/or deicing device can include an icephobic outer layer configured to prevent ice from forming and/or building up on the outer layer by preventing ice from adhering to the outer layer. The device can include a backer film attached to an underside of the icephobic outer layer, and an adhesive attached to the backer film on an opposite side of the backer film relative to the icephobic outer layer.
MULTILAYER POLYOLEFIN FILM
The invention relates to a multilayer polyolefin film with improved barrier effect against oxygen and water vapor and having at least one core layer and two cover layers, in which at least one layer contains a hydrocarbon resin and a nucleating agent.
Elastic adhesive composition and an elastic composite made with the same
This invention claims hot melt adhesive compositions that can be used to form elastic composites that are useful in disposable absorbent articles. The compositions have good elastic recovery and high peel adhesion at a viscosity of less than about 20,000 cps at 177 C. The low viscosity makes it possible to apply the adhesive at a high line speed and target application to only those areas requiring elastic performance.
