Solar-reactive mulch film

A solar reactive mulch film comprising one or more layers of heat shrink material pre-strained at a predetermined temperature and tension. Immediately cooling the pre-strained layers retains molecular deformation stresses in the material which facilitate shrinkage but not expansion on exposure to solar radiation. The mulch film adapted to be laid over longitudinal growing beds and held tautly by burying its side edges in soil. Exposure of uncovered portions of film to solar radiation causes shrinkage in one or more directions whereby in combination with the weight of the soil holding it down, maintains tautness of the mulch over a growing period. Methods of manufacture and use of the same.

Belt as endless traction means and method for producing such a belt

The invention relates to a belt (1) as a continuous traction means, in particular for conveyor belts of agricultural machines, in particular baling presses, comprising at least one fabric layer (2) embedded, at least in certain regions, in a polymer layer (3), in particular rubber layer, whereby end regions (1a, 1b) of the belt (1) lie flat on top of one another in an overlap region (4) and are connected to each other for creating a continuous belt (1) reinforced by the fabric layer (2). According to the invention, it is provided that the end regions (1a, 1b) of the belt (1) are connected to each other by at least one thread (7) forming a seam (9), whereby, to that end, said at least one thread (7) penetrates the end regions (1a, 1b) of the belt (1) in a seam region (6) in several stitches (8), whereby the fabric layer (2) of the belt (1) is embedded in the polymer layer (3) at least across said seam region (6), and the thread (7) is embedded in transition regions (20) between the stitches (8) into the polymer layer (3) in such a manner shallowly at a depth of penetration (T) that the thread (7) runs below surfaces (10a, 10b) of the belt (1).

Regulating system and method for multilayer shading film of plastic greenhouse with adjustable shading rate

The invention discloses a regulating system and method for multilayer shading film of plastic greenhouse with adjustable shading rate. The upper film of the sunshade is a fully transparent film, while the middle film and the lower film are printed with dots, which are interlaced. Through the measurement and comparison of the warm light in the greenhouse, the combined control of the sunshade film is realized. Not only can it adjust its light blocking rate, but it also has a heat insulating effect when there is a certain amount of air in the film.

Multilayer polymer composite constructs

A method of forming particles for controlled guest agent release includes coextruding first and second polymer materials to form a multilayer polymer composite sheet comprising alternating first and second polymer layers, dividing the multilayer sheet into particles, immersing the particles in a solvent containing the guest agent such that the first layers swell and the guest agent is loaded into the swollen first layers.

Flexible layered sheet

A flexible layered fabric sheet comprising a porous front layer and a pre-seeded substrate layer, where the seeds are in-between the two layers (rather than at the back of the substrate layer), for supporting root growth, the two layers together having an upper and lower edge and being attached together with one or more non-continuous seams between the upper and lower edges, which seams have a component of direction parallel to the upper and/or lower edge, and wherein the non-continuous seams enable water to exit the layered fabric sheet at its lower edge, and the non-continuous seams further serve to slow water flow through the water sheet. The seams also serve to keep the two layers from separating which would hamper the penetration of the sapling through the front porous layer, and thus stunt growth.

Resin composition, melt-forming material, multilayer structure, and liquid packaging material

A resin composition contains: (A) an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, (B) a polyester resin, and (C) a sorbic acid ester; wherein the sorbic acid ester (C) is present in an amount of 0.00001 to 10 ppm based on the weight of the resin composition. The resin composition exhibits excellent thermal degradation resistance reduced susceptibility to coloration.
