An electronic device, including a housing that is metal or lined with an electrically conductive material, at least one electrical component, and a battery cell positioned in a cavity in the outer housing, the battery cell integrated into the electronic device. The battery cell includes a first current collector and an active cell core. The first current collector is the electrically conductive material of the outer housing of the electronic device and connects to the at least one electrical component. The active cell core includes a first active material in adjacent facing relation to and electrically coupled to the first current collector, a second active material; a separator positioned between the first active material and the second active material; and a second current collector electrically coupled with the second active material, wherein the second current collector connects to the at least one electrical component.

An ultraviolet (UV) light disinfectant unit is sized for portability and handheld use. The handheld UV light disinfectant unit includes a shell defining an interior cavity. A UV light is provided on an exterior of the shell. A transparent lens cap is provided over the UV light and is removably mounted to the shell. At least one writing instrument such as a pen and/or stylus is integrated into the handheld UV light disinfectant unit. The writing instrument is extendable away from the shell and retractable into the interior cavity. A slider button may be provided to slide the writing instrument between the retracted position and the extended position. A combination of a UV light and a writing instrument in a handheld device provides a user with a multiuse tool to accomplish tasks such as writing on publicly accessible screens that may make multiple steps of disinfecting desirable.

Representative implementations of devices and techniques provide a tactical pen that may include various useful features and components, according to various embodiments. In the implementations, the tactical pen is comprised of multiple components (e.g., two or more sections) which may be coupled together and which may be sealed with one or more seals to provide moisture or humidity protection to the contents of the pen. For example, in addition to an ink pen refill (e.g., ball-point pen refill), the tactical pen may include one or more cavities or compartments to store items, a sharp implement, as well as one or more additional tools or implements.

A stylus includes in a tubular casing a core body, a pressure detector that detects a pressure applied to the core body, a coupling fitted over the core body, the coupling transmitting the pressure to the pressure detector, and a core pressing controller that controls the coupling to press the core body axially in the tubular casing. The coupling includes a push bearer that bears a push from the core pressing controller, a presser having an axial end fitted in the pressure detector, a fitting region fitted over a portion of the core body remote from a pen tip end of the tubular casing, a receptacle in which another end of the presser remote from an axial end thereof is axially movably housed, and an elastic member disposed in the receptacle, the elastic member biasing the other end of the presser resiliently toward an axial pen tip end of the receptacle.

A writing instrument assembly has a writing instrument with a body and a working tip extended or extendable from the body. A holder has a landing spot for the writing instrument. The writing instrument is magnetically and detachably retained at the landing spot when attached to the holder. The working tip is sheathed or covered automatically when the writing instrument is attached to the holder and is unsheathed or uncovered when detached from the holder.

The holding case includes: a channel configured to receive the highlighter pen and having a first opening and a second; a gripping unit in the channel, configured to removably grip the highlighter pen; a chamber extending from the second end of the channel and configured to receive a tip of the highlighter pen, the chamber comprising a sealing unit configured to cooperate with the highlighter pen when the highlighter pen has traversed the sealing unit, to generate an airtight environment in which the tip of the highlighter pen is contained; at least one first magnet. The base has at least one second magnet, such that attraction between the at least one first magnet and the at least one second magnet makes the base removably joinable to the holding case.

A holding device for a highlighter pen, comprising a holding case and a base. The holding case includes: a channel configured to receive the highlighter pen and having a first opening and a second; a gripping unit in the channel, configured to removably grip the highlighter pen; a chamber extending from the second end of the channel and configured to receive a tip of the highlighter pen, the chamber comprising a sealing unit configured to cooperate with the highlighter pen when the highlighter pen has traversed the sealing unit, to generate an airtight environment in which the tip of the highlighter pen is contained; at least one first magnet.
