A spindle for a wheel end assembly includes a first end of the spindle receiving the wheel of a vehicle on a first side of the wheel end assembly, and a second end of the spindle defining a flange and receiving the axle of a vehicle is disclosed. The flange includes a socket joint that receives the axle on the second side of the wheel end assembly. Mounting members extend distally from the second side a first distance to secure the spindle to the wheel end assembly via the flange. The socket joint of the spindle extends from the second side of the wheel end assembly a second distance from the second side. The second distance is greater than the first distance. A third distance represents degree of overlap of the axle by a ratio with respect to the outer diameter of the axle ranging from 8% to 20%.

Wheel hub motor and motor housing of wheel hub motor

A wheel hub motor includes a motor housing and a motor received in the motor housing. The motor housing includes a first holder, a second holder coupled to the first holder, and a protective ring detachably coupled to the second holder. The motor is received in the first holder and the second holder. An inner diameter of the second holder is equal to an outer diameter of the motor. An outer diameter of the protective ring is greater than the outer diameter of the motor. An inner diameter of the protective ring is smaller than the outer diameter of the motor.

An axle assembly having an axle housing, an axle shaft, a plurality of axle shaft bearings and a seal. The axle housing has a tubular member and an end flange that is coupled to the tubular member. The axle shaft bearings and the seal are received in the end flange and are engaged to the axle shaft. The axle shaft bearings support the axle shaft for rotation relative to the axle housing. The seal is sealingly engaged to the end flange and the axle shaft. A method for assembling an axle assembly is also provided.

Driven wheel bearing unit with integrated torque measurement

The invention relates to a wheel bearing unit (1) for supporting a vehicle wheel which can be driven. This wheel bearing unit (1) includes a wheel hub (2) which forms a hollow space (11) and is rotatably supported by a wheel bearing (3) formed as a rolling bearing, wherein the wheel bearing is inserted (3) in a wheel carrier. Furthermore the wheel hub (2) is connected by a hub flange (21) to the vehicle wheel and reciprocally to the hub flange (21) by an end toothing (9) in positive engagement with a drive joint (8). A measurement of a torque or a torsion takes place by a sensor (18) at an inner wall (17) of the hollow space (11) of the wheel hub (2).
