A runflat device, and a method of fitting a runflat device. The runflat device can include a chain of segments which is flexible enough to be manipulated for fitting, while also being laterally stable to ensure correct positioning and to avoid misalignment when tightening onto a wheel. The fitting method initially expands the runflat device within the cavity of the tire, retaining the runflat device securely in place against the inside of the tire's tread area. This advantageously leaves the beads of the tire unobstructed for fitting to a wheel.

Anti-roll off assembly and system including same

A system. The system includes a one-piece wheel, a tire mounted to the wheel, and an antiroll off assembly. The wheel defines an axis of rotation and includes a disc portion which defines a central opening, and a rim portion which is connected to the disc portion and defines first and second flange portions, first and second seat portions and a well portion. The anti-roll off assembly is positioned in the well portion and includes a band, a plurality of filler assemblies connected to the band and a coupler assembly configured to adjust a tension force applied to the band. The coupler assembly includes a first trunnion in contact with the band and having a first threaded opening, a second trunnion in contact with the band and having a second threaded opening, and a threaded member threadedly engaged with the first threaded opening and the second threaded opening.

A tire includes: a tread portion including a tread surface; a pair of sidewall portions that extend inward in a tire radial direction from both sides of the tread portion in a tire width direction; and a pair of bead portions each of which includes a bead core that is elongated continuously to an inside of the sidewall portion in the tire radial direction and extends continuously in an annular shape in a tire circumferential direction, and a bead filler disposed adjacent to the bead core and outside the bead core in the tire radial direction. A density of the reinforcing cords changes in a range from 20% inclusive to 60% inclusive of a tire sectional height from a tire inner end in the tire radial direction, and such that an outside of an area, in which the density changes, has a low density of the reinforcing cords.

A pneumatic tire includes a reinforcing rubber layer disposed in the sidewall portions, the reinforcing rubber layer having a crescent-like meridian cross-section. When the tire is assembled on a regular rim and in an unloaded state with an internal pressure of 0 kPa, a radius of curvature (RP) is smaller than a radius of curvature (RO), an arc of the radius of curvature (RP) joining an intersection (Pa) of a carcass layer and a straight line (La), an intersection (Pb) of the carcass layer and a straight line (Lb), and an intersection (Pc) of the carcass layer and a straight line (Lc), and an arc of the radius of curvature (RO) joining an intersection (Oa) of the straight line (La) and a tire external contour, an intersection (Ob) of the straight line (Lb) and the tire external contour, and an intersection (Oc) of the straight line (Lc) and the tire external contour.

POST-CURE SIDEWALL STABILIZING REINFORCEMENT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING

A run-flat tire and method of manufacturing is disclosed with a pair of post-cure sidewall-stabilizing run-flat inserts. Each of the pair of post-cure sidewall-stabilizing run-flat inserts extends circumferentially about a rotational axis of a tire; includes a first terminating end, and a second terminating end, opposite the first terminating end; and is disposed on a radially inner surface of a sidewall of a tire such that the first terminating end terminates above the bead core and the second terminating end terminates along at least one of the sidewall and a respective adjacent shoulder.
