AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CONVERSION
An assembly includes a sensor module having an external surface configured to receive a seal and defining a perimeter. The assembly includes a plurality of sensors supported by the sensor module. The assembly includes a lock movable between a locked state and an unlocked state and supported by the sensor module within the perimeter. A computer is supported by the sensor module and is programmed to actuate the lock.
Method for forming seals on vehicle bodies
A method for forming seals on vehicle bodies produces by extrusion a sealing material strand to be processed to form a multiplicity of seals, coils the sealing material strand to form a transportable unit, transports the transportable unit to a processing site, and supplies the sealing material strand continuously at the processing site using the transportable unit to a processing device which forms the seals, wherein, within the scope of the processing, a portion of the sealing material strand to be applied to the relevant seal support seat and forming the seal is severed from the sealing material strand in each case. Within the scope of producing the sealing material strand, the sealing material strand portions which in each case form a seal are produced with a cross section changing in the longitudinal direction of the strand, and, within the scope of processing the sealing material strand, separating points which are required for severing the sealing material strand portions which in each case form a seal are determined by detecting markings which are produced on the sealing material strand before the transportable unit is formed and/or by detecting changes in the cross section of the sealing material strand that occur at certain longitudinal positions of the sealing material strand portions.
UNDERBODY COVER ASSEMBLY
An underbody cover assembly includes an upper member for receiving and housing a component that includes a first flange extending around a circumference of the upper member defining a component space. The component is disposable in the component space. The upper member also includes at least one mounting location having a hole for receiving a fastener there through for mounting the upper member to a body member. The underbody cover assembly also includes a lower member connected to the upper member for covering an air outlet that includes a U-shaped second flange extending inwardly around a circumference of the lower member, a screen with a plurality of apertures for blocking debris from entering the air outlet, and a seal disposed on a distal edge of the second flange for providing a seal between the lower member and the body member.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING THE ELONGATION AND/OR COMPRESSION OF A PROFILED SEALING ELEMENT
A method for determining the elongation and/or compression of a profiled sealing element applied to a body includes drawing the profiled sealing element, which exists as an endless profiled element, from a store and, with the help of an application roller and by means of an adhesive surface present on the profiled sealing element, rolling the profiled sealing element onto the body part along a line intended for the attachment. A measuring roller, which rolls on the profiled sealing element without slip, is arranged at a small distance before a drive system for the profiled sealing element. The length sensed by the measuring roller corresponds to the length of the profiled sealing element applied to the body along an application distance having a defined length.
Middle insert and glass window
Disclosed are a middle insert (1) for mounting a light decoration strip (2) on a seal (3) of automobile glass, and a glass window containing the middle insert (1), the light decoration strip (2) and the seal (3), wherein the middle insert (1) comprises a first end part (11), a second end part (12), and a connecting part (13) used for connecting the first end part (11) and the second end part (12). The first end part (11) is provided with a first opening (14), the second end part (12) is provided with a second opening (15), and the first opening (14) and the second opening (15) respectively face the outsides of the end parts thereof. The middle insert (1) is simple in structure such that both complexity and labor costs are reduced.
Vehicle door seal apparatus and method of use
Some embodiments are directed to a seal assembly including a main door seal that extends around a vehicle door interior surface and that is spaced from a door perimeter. A first seal portion extends from an inward end thereof disposed along the main door seal to an outward end thereof disposed along the vehicle door perimeter. The first seal portion forms a barrier vertically above a latch slot, is capable of intercepting substances disposed above and traveling downward toward the latch slot, and facilitates transport of the intercepted substances to the door perimeter. A second seal portion is disposed between the latch slot and the vehicle door perimeter, and extends downwardly from the outward end of the first seal portion. The second seal portion is configured to impede travel toward the vehicle door interior surface of the intercepted substances that have been transported to the vehicle door perimeter.
AUTOMOTIVE WATER-SHIELD WITH DRIP LEDGE TO PREVENT WATER LEAKS
A water-shield includes a flexible body having a drip ledge. That drip ledge is displaceable between a first position and a second position. A door assembly includes a wall and the water-shield. In the second position, the drip ledge extends through an access opening in the wall to divert water away from the dry side of the wall. A related method is also disclosed.
Mechanical fastening nets and methods of making the same
A method of making a mechanical fastening net. The method includes providing a net having strands of polymer and open areas between the strands of polymer and molding a portion of the polymer in the strands of the net into upstanding posts to form the mechanical fastening net. A mechanical fastening net that includes a polymeric backing, a plurality of openings in the polymeric backing, and upstanding posts on at least one of the first or second major surface of the polymeric backing is also disclosed. The polymeric backing has a range of thicknesses ranging from minimum to maximum thickness, and for at least a portion of the polymeric backing, the minimum thickness of the polymeric backing is where it abuts one of the openings.
WEATHER STRIP FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A weather strip for a vehicle by which a bonding force between a metallic core and a weather strip of rubber may be reinforced, and a method for manufacturing the same, may include a weather strip body, and a metallic core inserted into the weather strip body, wherein the core has an uneven layer on a surface thereof.
Profile element for connecting a vehicle window pane to a cover part and profile element assembly
