A vehicle has a vehicle frame having a first end and a second end and a first siderail and a second siderail spaced laterally and each extend longitudinally from the first end to the second end. A caster wheel having a lateral axis is rotatably coupled to the vehicle frame towards the first end. Drive wheels defining an axis are rotatably coupled to the vehicle frame towards the second end. A prime mover coupled to the vehicle frame has a base and a vertical driveshaft, which is in operative communication with the drive wheels, extending from the base. The vertical driveshaft has a driveshaft axis closer to the second siderail than the first siderail laterally and closer to the caster wheel axis than the drive wheel axis longitudinally. The base is positioned vertically below most of the length of each of the first siderail and the second siderail.

Floating engine powertrain

A vehicle transaxle comprising a plurality of mounting flanges fixedly mountable to an axle tube of the vehicle absent any additional structure for mounting the transaxle to the vehicle. The axle tube houses a wheel axle to which the transaxle is operably couplable. The transaxle additionally comprises a transaxle mounting collar that is fixedly mounted to or integrally formed with a housing of the transaxle. The mounting collar is structured and operable to have a prime mover of the vehicle mounted thereto and to support the weight/mass of the prime mover such that the prime mover is mountable to the vehicle via only the mounting collar absent any additional structure for mounting the prime mover to the vehicle such that the prime mover can be cantilevered from (e.g., suspended from) the transaxle, e.g., the prime mover is ‘free floating’.

HYBRID ELECTRIC HYDRAULIC REFUSE VEHICLE

A refuse vehicle includes a vehicle body on a chassis having a frame, an internal combustion engine (ICE), and a transmission coupling the ICE with a plurality of tractive elements. The vehicle body includes an electrically powered body system and a hydraulically powered body system. A first power module is coupled with the ICE and is configured to provide rotary power to a hydraulic pump that is configured to provide hydraulic power to the hydraulically powered body system. A second power module is coupled with the transmission and configured to rotationally couple and decouple an electrical generator with the transmission. The generator is configured to charge at least one battery when rotationally coupled with the transmission. The battery is configured to provide electrical power to the electrically powered body system.

Off-highway recreational vehicle

A recreational off-highway vehicle includes side-by-side passenger and driver seats held within a chassis that is approximately 50 inches wide. The seats sit low in the chassis and are covered by a roll cage. Grab handles are positioned on the sides of the passenger seat. Select large round tubing protects the vehicle, while rectangular tubing frames the portions of the vehicle beneath body panels. The vehicle is powered by an engine rearward of the seats that is connected to a transaxle. The engine and transaxle are isolation mounted together with a portion of the air intake assembly. The vehicle is suited for rough terrain travel.
