Vehicle body front structure
In a vehicle body front structure, an operating unit that extends upward to raise a front hood by a predetermined amount when a vehicle collides against an obstacle in front is arranged in a dashboard upper configured to introduce outside air into an interior. The operating unit is mounted in a vehicle body so as to be displaced downward by an external force acting from above after extending upward. An opening portion for drain is provided in a bottom portion of the dashboard upper. The opening portion is arranged at a position where the operating unit can be moved downward by the external force acting from above after extending upward.
Hood for a motor vehicle body
A hood, for example a front hood, for a motor vehicle body is described. The hood includes an outer skin and a stiffening structure covered by the outer skin. The stiffening structure includes a nub plate with a substrate and nubs extending from the substrate under the outer skin made of plastic. A second plate is includes on which apexes of the nubs are fastened.
Support structure for a motor vehicle
A support structure for a motor vehicle with a first connecting section, a second connecting section and a deformation section, which is arranged between the first connecting section and the second connecting section. The deformation section is provided in its lengthwise dimension with a recess formed from a middle web and legs joined to it by connecting regions. The deformation section is fashioned as a single piece and a) the wall thickness in the connecting regions is at least partly along the lengthwise dimension of the deformation section at least 20% larger than the wall thickness of the middle web and/or the legs and/or b) the ends of the legs have a wall thickness which for at least a portion of the lengthwise dimension of the deformation section is at least 20% greater than the wall thickness of the middle web and/or the legs.
Vehicle side section structure
A vehicle side section structure that includes: a lower reinforcement that configures a lower portion of a vehicle width direction outer side section of a center pillar, that is open toward a vehicle width direction inner side viewed from a vehicle upper side, that has an upper portion disposed adjacent to an inner side of a lower end portion of an outer reinforcement, and that has a lower strength than the outer reinforcement; and an escape portion that is formed at a vehicle width direction outer side wall portion of the lower reinforcement, that is disposed facing a lower end of a vehicle width direction outer side wall portion of the outer reinforcement in the vehicle width direction, and that is separated from, and is at the vehicle width direction inner side of, the lower end.
Vehicle body front section structure
A vehicle body front section structure has a floor tunnel that projects into a vehicle interior on an underfloor of a vehicle, that is formed in a vehicle longitudinal direction, and that has a floor tunnel front end part disposed at a vehicle front of the floor tunnel, and floor tunnel members, a front end ridge line part, a first vehicle body front section reinforcing member that covers, from an outside of the vehicle, a whole of the floor tunnel front end part, from a vehicle upper end to a root of each of the floor tunnel members, and that is provided in the vehicle longitudinal direction along the front end ridge line part, and front side members, each of which has a lower end root that is connected to a dash panel, and each of which extends forward from the lower end root.
Extruded vehicle body component
A vehicle body component is provided. The vehicle body component includes an extruded elongate member that has a longitudinally extending cross section. The elongate member includes a first section that extends along a first axis, a second section that extends from the first section along a second axis, and a third section that extends from the second section along a third axis, wherein the first axis and the third axis are non-coplanar with respect to each other.
Vehicle pillar transfer aid
A pillar for a vehicle includes a recess provided in a portion thereof for use as a transfer aid when exiting or entering the vehicle. The recess may be provided in a side wall of the pillar. A supplemental seal may be associated with a door of the vehicle, the seal being dimensioned to substantially occlude a gap defined between the recess and the door when placed in the closed configuration. Inclusion of the recess in different vehicle pillars such as the B pillar and C pillar is contemplated.
Operating lever, seat device and operating section structure
An operating lever includes a fixing portion, a handle, and an interface. The fixing portion is to be fixed to a power transmitter. The handle is to be gripped by a user. The interface connects the fixing portion and the handle. The fixing portion, the handle, and the interface are integrally formed. The interface has a weak portion at a portion other than the outer periphery of the interface, the weak portion being weaker than other portions.
Cross-member and method for mounting a component to a vehicle frame beam
A cross-member is provided for a vehicle having a frame structure including two longitudinal beams, wherein the cross-member includes a main portion and two end-sections wherein each end section includes an outer surface for facing an inner surface of a longitudinal frame beam wherein the cross-member includes at least one protrusion extending from the outer surface of the end-sections for being introduced into a hole or notch of the frame beam for forming a form-lock to one more components to be mounted to the longitudinal frame beam.
Light assembly with illuminable outer lens
A light assembly includes a housing defining separate first and second cavities, an illuminable outer lens constructed from a homogenous multi-polymer material, and a first lighting source within the first cavity. A second lighting source may be positioned in the second cavity. An opaque portion of the housing separates the first and second cavities and prevents an influx into the second cavity of light emitted by the first lighting source. The multi-polymer material, when irradiated by the first lighting source, illuminates with a light transmittance level of about 50% or more and a haze level of less than about 30%. A vehicle includes a body having a front end, a hood positioned at the front end, and the light assembly positioned adjacent to the hood. A controller may transmit a lighting control signal to the first lighting source to command a turn signal, daytime running light, park, or position function.
