Vehicle vision system utilizing multiple cameras and ethernet links
A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle and having respective fields of view exterior of the vehicle and being operable to capture frames of image data. Image data captured by each of the cameras is provided to an ECU via an ETHERNET link from the respective camera to the ECU. At least one control signal for controlling operation of each camera is provided from the ECU to the respective camera via the respective ETHERNET link. Image data captured by at least one of the cameras is processed at the ECU to detect an object present exterior of the equipped vehicle, wherein the object is a vehicle that is approaching the equipped vehicle and that is traveling in a traffic lane adjacent to a traffic lane in which the equipped vehicle is traveling.
VEHICULAR VISION SYSTEM WITH WINDSHIELD MOUNTED CAMERA
A vehicular vision system includes a camera module configured for mounting at an in-cabin portion of a windshield of a vehicle and including a circuit board and a camera that views forward of the vehicle and through the windshield. The camera includes a CMOS imaging sensor array. A flexible coupling is provided between the camera and the circuit board. A data processor is operable to process image data captured by the CMOS imaging sensor array. Image data captured by the CMOS imaging sensor array is encoded by a data encoder chip. Captured image data captured that is encoded at the data encoder chip is carried as a data stream from the camera module to the data processor via a cable. Communication via the cable between the camera and the data processor is bidirectional. The data processor is located in the vehicle remote from the camera module.
Sign display apparatus
A sign information output apparatus includes an output instructor for instructing an information output section to stop output of sign information if a traveled distance measured in response to the detection of a sign exceeds a threshold value, and a threshold value changer for changing a threshold value depending on at least one of interval information with respect to an interval at which signs of one type are placed, speed limit information with respect to a speed limit of the road, and a speed of the vehicle.
Image processing device, warning device and method for processing image
There is provided an image processing device capable of recognizing a presence of an object with low visibility on a combined image, a warning device and a method for processing an image. The image processing device includes an image acquiring unit configured to acquire a first image capturing an area around a mobile object including a first area and a second image capturing an area around the mobile object including a second area adjacent to the first area; a contour detector configured to perform a contour detection to the first and second images; and a determiner configured to detect, if a first contour detected on the first image extends to a boundary with the second image on a combined image including at least a part of the first image and at least a part of the second image, whether or not a second contour is detected on an extension of the first contour on the second image.
Method and system for generating a surround view
A method and system for generating a surround view are provided. The method may include: establishing a surround surface; obtaining a plurality of images of surroundings; and projecting the images onto the surround surface based on a projection relationship between points on the surround surface and pixels on the images to generate a surround view, where the projection relationship may change with heights of the points on the surround surface. An improved projection effect may be obtained.
Vehicle vision system with windshield mounted camera
A vision system for a vehicle includes a windshield camera module having a camera and a circuit board, with the camera having a field of view through the windshield and forward of the vehicle. The camera is electrically connected to circuitry established at the circuit board via a flexible electrical connection, where the circuitry (i) provides power to the camera, (ii) controls the camera and (iii) receives image data from the camera. With the camera module at the windshield, at least a portion of the circuit board is further from the windshield than the lens of the camera. With the camera module at the windshield, at least a portion of the circuit board is disposed at the windshield higher up than the lens of the camera. An image processor processes captured image data and is part of a driver assistance system of the vehicle.
VEHICLE INFORMATION PROJECTING SYSTEM AND VEHICLE INFORMATION PROJECTING METHOD
A vehicle information projecting system includes: an image-capturing unit capturing an image of a road in front of a vehicle; a display mechanism projecting vehicle information onto a display region set as a portion of a windshield and displaying the vehicle information in the display region so that a virtual image of the vehicle information overlaps the actual landscape from the viewpoint of the vehicle driver; a rear vehicle information acquiring unit acquiring rear vehicle information representing the fact that a rear vehicle is present at the rear of the vehicle; lane change information acquiring units acquiring lane change information representing the fact that the vehicle is changing lanes from a traveling lane to a lane adjacent to the traveling lane; and a processing unit assessing the degree to which attention should be paid to the rear vehicle, based on the rear vehicle information and the lane change information.
