CONVEYANCE SYSTEM

To provide a conveyance system and a rack made up of simple mechanical structures only and free of malfunctions, the rack being capable of reliably meshing with and separating from a plurality of pinions one after another without stoppage or breakage with less impact, vibration, noise and the like even when there are differences in phases and speeds. A rack (120) includes a main body (121) provided with a plurality of fixed rack teeth (122) in a central part thereof, and a movable part (123) provided with movable rack teeth (124) continuous with at least one end of the fixed rack teeth (122). The movable part (123) is pivotally supported around a support shaft (125). The support shaft (125) is provided more forward in a moving direction than a position where the movable rack teeth (124) of the movable part (123) are located.

SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM

A transportation system includes a first support tower, a second support tower, a suspension cable extending between the first and second support towers, and a tube defining an interior channel extending between the first and second support towers. A vehicle is configured to travel through the interior channel. A tension support member has a first end coupled to the suspension cable and a second end coupled to the first tube through an actuator. The tension support member exerts tension force to upwardly pull the first tube towards the suspension cable. The actuator adjusts the tension force when the vehicle travels through the interior channel under the tension support member to reduce deflection of the tube.

A transportation system includes a tube defining an interior channel. A vehicle is configured to travel through the interior channel. At least one tension support couples the tube to ground. The tension support(s) exerts tension force into the tube. The tension force exerted into the tube reduces deflection of the tube when the vehicle travels through the interior channel over the tension support(s).

Method of detecting detachment of an ostomy device from a patient

A method of detecting detachment of an ostomy device from a patient includes providing, in the ostomy device, a first electrode separated from the patient by an adhesive that attaches the ostomy device to the patient, where a first capacitor is formed between the first electrode and the patient. The method includes applying a signal to an electrical circuit that includes the first capacitor, and detecting changes in a capacitance value of the first capacitor based on frequency responses of the electrical circuit to the signal. The method additionally includes activating an alarm based upon detecting the changes in the capacitance value of the first capacitor.
