A pair of sliders are connected to the seat attachment assembly, each of the sliders forming a channel for each individually receiving therein a respective one of the elongated frame members so as to allow sliding movement of the elongated frame members relative to the sliders.

STORAGE COMPARTMENT FOR MOTORCYCLE

A compartment for containing a handheld article, is secured to the motorcycle frame and located on one side of the motorcycle and below the level of the seat. The compartment has a hinged closure on its top surface, and is positioned and configured to allow the rider to open the closure and remove articles while mounted and in motion. The hinge for the closure is located adjacent an edge of the top surface of the compartment so that the edge of the closure opposite the hinge moves upward and away from the motorcycle frame when the closure is opened. The closure readily clears the seat as it is opened, and can move past a vertical condition so that it can remain open. The interior of the compartment is provided with a block of compressible foam formed with slits for receiving articles to be stored.

A motorcycle accessory is attachable to the fuel tank via a connection structure including first and second connection portions that are complementary and inter-engageable together to positively define a fully-secured state. The first connection portion is secured to an exterior surface of the upper wall of the fuel tank, and the second connection portion is secured to the motorcycle accessory. The connection structure defines a finite position and rotational orientation of the motorcycle accessory upon relative rotation of the motorcycle accessory with respect to the fuel tank to the fully secured state.
