ELECTRIC POWERED VEHICLE
An electric powered vehicle may include a maximum speed limiting device. In the first mode, in a case where the distance is shorter than a first reference value, the maximum speed is limited to a value lower than the maximum speed applied when the distance is longer than the first reference value. In the second mode, in a case where the distance is shorter than a second reference value, the maximum speed is limited to a value lower than the maximum speed applied when the distance is longer than the second reference value. In a case where the distance changes from a value shorter than the first and second reference values to a value longer the first and second reference values, the maximum speed limiting device increases the maximum speed at an earlier timing in the second mode than in the first mode.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING AUTOMATIC ALERTS FOR TRANSPORTATION MANEUVER EVENTS
An approach is provided for determining vehicle maneuver events. The approach, for example, involves determining sensor data from a sensor of a device associated with a vehicle. The sensor data includes a maneuver parameter represented using a device frame of reference. The approach also involves transforming the maneuver parameter from the device frame of reference to an Earth frame of reference. The approach further involves automatically detecting a maneuver event of the vehicle based on the maneuver parameter as transformed to the Earth frame of reference. The approach further involves providing the detected maneuver event to a signaling unit associated with the vehicle.
Safety windscreen assembly
A safety windscreen assembly including a windscreen panel, a support arm to support the windscreen panel, the support arm having a first arm portion configured to be attached to a motor vehicle, and a second arm portion attached to the windscreen panel, the motor vehicle being a vehicle provided with a steering handlebar and with a seat astride which a driver may sit, where at least one sacrificial coupling element is provided, to couple the second arm portion with the first arm portion so that the second arm portion is adapted to pass in a breaking configuration with respect to the first arm portion when the windscreen panel is hit by a predetermined impact force higher than a threshold value.

Straddle-type vehicle information processor and straddle-type vehicle information processing method
The invention obtains a straddle-type vehicle information processor and a straddle-type vehicle information processing method capable of recognizing that a traveling straddle-type vehicle enters a falling phase with a high degree of accuracy at appropriate timing and thereby contributes to improvement in occupant safety. A straddle-type vehicle information processor 10 includes: a posture information acquisition section 11 that at least acquires a roll rate Rr and a yaw rate Ry generated in a traveling straddle-type vehicle 1 as posture information; and a falling phase recognition section 12 that recognizes that the straddle-type vehicle 1 enters a falling phase in the case where a change in a degree of instability over time, which is derived at least on the basis of the roll rate Rr and the yaw rate Ry, shows an increasing tendency.

Method for warning a driver of a motorcycle as well as ride assistant controller and motorcycle implementing such method
A method for warning a driver of a motorcycle and a ride assistant controller for implementing or controlling such method are described. The method includes monitoring traffic situations based on signals from at least one sensor; upon detecting a critical traffic situation based on the signals from the at least one sensor, warning the driver by inducing an acceleration change onto the motorcycle; wherein a current lean angle of the motorcycle is monitored and a manner and/or degree of inducing the acceleration change onto the motorcycle is set taking into account the current lean angle of the motorcycle.
A VEHICLE STABILISING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION THEREOF
A system includes: sensors that includes a position sensor to determine a vehicle speed, an angular displacement sensor to determine a roll angle corresponding to an angular displacement of the vehicle in a roll direction and a roll rate corresponding to an angular velocity of the vehicle in the roll direction, and a steering torque sensor to determine a steering torque applied to a steering handle of the vehicle; and a stabilizing unit coupled to the sensors. The stabilizing unit: determines a synthesized torque based on the roll angle, the roll rate, and the vehicle speed; determines a tuning parameter based on a comparison of the synthesized torque and the steering torque; determines a stabilizing torque based on the tuning parameter and the synthesized torque; and provides an actuating signal corresponding to the stabilizing torque for applying the stabilizing torque to the steering handle of the vehicle.

Safety light
The present invention provides various aspects of a novel safety light that can be attached to a bicyclist or an athlete so as to define a well lit, safe distance to avoid collision by a motorist. The present safety concerns would find advantage in an easy to attach safety light that is much larger, more conspicuous and one that provides greater lumens. It would be desirable for athletes and the sports industry if there was provided an improved safety light system to provide a significant warning to let motorists know the safe distance that any motorist and/or his vehicle needs to avoid so as not to hit the cyclist or athlete.
