20220380197 · 2022-12-01 ·

A backsplash protector device for use with a fuel tank or a motorcycle gas tank to prevent fuel from jumping or splashing from the opening of the gas tank during a fuel filling operation, and a vapor tube lock device for application to a gas nozzle to hold the vapor tube of the gas nozzle in a retracted or compressed position to permit a greater portion of the nozzle to be inserted through the backsplash protector and into the fuel tank without obscuring or blocking the user's ability to visually monitor the fuel flow, the fuel level within the tank, and/or the relative position of the nozzle (and the nozzle end from which fuel flows) within the tank.

STRADDLED VEHICLE

A straddled vehicle, including a head pipe, a main frame extending rearward from the head pipe, a fuel tank supported by the main frame, an air cleaner arranged in front of the fuel tank, a side cover formed on a lateral side of the fuel tank to partially overlap the fuel tank in a side view of the straddled vehicle, an intake port provided at an edge of the side cover and opening toward an outside of the straddled vehicle, an air cleaner chamber in which at least a part of the air cleaner is arranged, and an intake passage including a first passage between the side cover and a side surface of the fuel tank, the intake port communicating with the air cleaner chamber through the intake passage. The side cover includes a front portion located forward of the air cleaner, and the intake port is arranged rearward of the air cleaner.

Fuel tank structure

A fuel tank structure that makes it difficult for mud, water, dust or the like to enter a fuel tank and that can restrict a fuel leakage path when a vehicle falls. A fuel cap includes a cap body mounted to a fuel supply port of a fuel tank, and a pressure adjusting device provided in the cap body to adjust a pressure in the fuel tank. In the fuel cap, a space is formed as a hermetically closed space in which the pressure adjusting device is accommodated, and the space communicates with an exterior of the fuel tank via a breather tube.
