DEVICE FOR DETECTING DISLOGDED ANCHORING APPARATUS AND THE LIKE
20170057603 · 2017-03-02 ·

The present invention provides an anchor alarm device which is a manually deployed weighted device attached to or near the anchor which signals to device equipment at water-level. The device detects the movement of, or physical force generated by, a dislodged anchor. When deployed, a component of the anchor alarm device rests adjacent to or as part of a seated anchor at a distance predetermined by the tolerance of the secondary rode. The secondary rode connects the device directly to the anchor, or near the anchor on the primary rode. Upon displacement of the set anchor, in excess of the secondary rode, the device alerts the user. The device utilizes sensor monitoring inside of a housing component to detect a force indicative of anchor displacement. This detection triggers a signals emission which alerts the user of the change in position. In cases wherein the anchor is not immediately retrieved, device re-arms autonomously and stops emission of the alarm signal until the next anchor displacement. The system communicates with signal devices on board or deployed near the anchoring vessel in order to alert the user.

A motorized watercraft is a vehicle that is used to transport a user across the water. The motorized watercraft includes a floating board, a control unit, at least one electrically accessible system, a power source, and at least one conduit stringer. The floating board allows a user to float above the water. The at least one electrically accessible system may include a propulsion system, lights, or other features. The control unit is mounted to the deck of the floating board and is used to regulate the speed of the propulsion system and may be used to control lights which are mounted into the floating board. The power source is used to provide the energy needed for running the propulsion system and the lights. The conduit stringer runs through the floating board, strengthening the floating board and providing a channel through which wiring may run.

ESTIMATING VESSEL INTENT
20170043848 · 2017-02-16 · ·

A computer implemented method includes receiving maritime vessel automatic identification system (AIS) data from a vessel. The method includes determining that the maritime vessel AIS data includes anomalous data. The method also includes estimating a likelihood of malicious vessel intent based on a comparison of the anomalous data to secondary data. In response to the likelihood of malicious vessel intent satisfying a threshold, the method further includes generating an alert that includes an indication of an inferred intent for the vessel.

Opto-electronic semiconductor module and method for the production thereof

An optoelectronic semiconductor module includes a chip carrier, a light emitting semiconductor chip mounted on the chip carrier and a cover element with an at least partly light transmissive cover plate, which is arranged on the side of the semiconductor chip facing away from the chip carrier, and has a frame part, wherein the frame part laterally encloses the semiconductor chip, is joined to the cover plate in a joining-layer free fashion and is joined to the chip carrier on its side remote from the cover plate.

STRUCTURAL COMPOSITES WITH EMBEDDED LIGHTING

A lighting apparatus and system, comprising optical fibers attached to a textile layer; the textile layer and the at least one optical fiber covered by a resin, which may be a co-cure resin, that has been cured, forming a fiber-resin boundary. The at least one optical fiber is attachable to a source of light energy so as to be in optical communication with the source of light energy, such that light energy from the source of light energy is communicated to optical fibers and propagates along the optical fibers when the source of light energy is activated. An index of refraction of the cured resin is related to an index of refraction of the optical fibers such that a desired portion of the light energy propagating along the optical fiber escapes the optical fibers when it encounters the fiber-resin boundary and is observable from outside the composite structure.
