SUBMARINE SURVEY PLATFORM AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
A submarine survey platform, including: a gasbag; a gas tube; a floater; an upper longitudinal plate; a lower longitudinal plate; diaphragm plates including upper openings, lower openings, and trapezoid openings disposed between the upper openings and the lower openings; and diagonal braces. The upper longitudinal plate includes a flat plate and a flanged plate. The lower longitudinal plate is a rectangular plate. The upper longitudinal plate pass through the upper openings, and the lower longitudinal plate pass through the lower openings. The diagonal braces and longitudinal stiffeners are disposed between every two adjacent diaphragm plates. Two diaphragm plates at two ends of the flat plate are provided with a lifting lug. The diagonal braces are symmetrically disposed and include outward braces and inward braces which are crossed with each other. Cross points of the upper/lower longitudinal plate with the diaphragm plates are support points of the upper/lower longitudinal plate.
Communication System
A ship network communication system according to an embodiment of the present invention that enables data transmission and reception wirelessly in a ship regardless of the thickness of a bulkhead comprises: a first communication device, attached to a first bulkhead from among a plurality of bulkheads dividing a hull into a plurality of spaces, to receive transmission data transmitted from a transmitting terminal; and a second communication device, attached to a second bulkhead from among the bulkheads, to receive the transmission data from a first Ethernet communication module through near field communication and to transfer the received transmission data to a receiving terminal, wherein the first communication device and the second communication device perform near field communication using the first bulkhead and the second bulkhead as a communication medium.
Sealing arrangement for an underwater mountable thruster of a marine vessel
A sealing arrangement is used when mounting a thruster in a well box attached to a hull of a marine vessel. The well box has an axis, a bottom flange, a top flange, an annular wall therebetween and hoisting pipes fastened parallel with the axis to the bottom flange radially outside the annular wall. Both the well box and a mounting flange have at least one surface acting as a sealing surface between the well box and the thruster. At least one of the surfaces has a groove for a seal for preventing water from entering the well box. The well box has a rotationally symmetric wall with an internal guide surface and the mounting flange of the thruster has an axially extending rotationally symmetric part provided with an outer surface having means for sealing the mounting flange in relation to the well box.
Apparatus and method for inspecting flooded cavities in a floating offshore installation
A threaded connection body is welded to the wall of a pipe, seachest or other flooded cavity within the hull of a ship or floating offshore installation. A sealed cutting apparatus is mounted via a valve unit n the connection body and a cutter extended through the open valve to form an opening in the wall. After retracting the cutter and closing the valve, the cutting apparatus is replaced by an inspection unit having a camera which is extended through the valve and the opening to inspect the cavity. After retracting the camera and closing the valve, the inspection unit is replaced by a plug deployment unit which advances a plug through the valve and screws it into the connection body. The valve unit can then be removed and replaced with a cap so that the plug and the cap provide a double seal to the connection body.
Pontoon shields
The present disclosure relates to pontoon shields. The pontoon shields disclosed herein may, for example, protect pontoons from damage and/or enhance the aesthetic appearance of pontoons. The shields may be fashioned from one or more segments of resilient material configured to attach along a longitudinal aspect of a pontoon. The shields may be fashioned from a single segment, or from one or more segments configured to mate with one another. The shields may be attached to a pontoon, for example, via an adhesive, weld, and/or one or more brackets, or other mechanical means.
FLOATING WIND ENERGY HARVESTING APPARATUS WITH IMPROVED MAINTENANCE
A floating VAWT comprising a wind turbine body having a lower body portion and an upper body portion; at least one blade attached to the upper body portion for converting wind energy to rotation of the wind turbine body; and an energy converter attached to the wind turbine body for converting the rotation of the wind turbine body to electrical energy. The energy converter comprises a first energy converter part, and a second energy converter part to be kept relatively stationary in relation to the first energy converter part. The energy converter is attached to the wind turbine body by means of a first releasable mechanical coupling between the first energy converter part and the lower body portion of the wind turbine body, and a second releasable mechanical coupling between the first energy converter part and the upper body portion of the wind turbine body.
SHARK DETERRENT
Disclosed is an apparatus that is able to generate an image to deter a shark from attacking a watercraft (e.g. a surf-craft). Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing and retrofitting watercraft to include the apparatus that is able to generate an image to deter a shark from attacking the watercraft.
MONITOR DEVICE
A monitor device includes a memory, a hardware mount configured to attach to a rigging member, a motion sensor configured to detect a first motion characteristic of the rigging member, and a processor operatively coupled to the memory and to the motion sensor. The processor is configured to receive the first motion characteristic from the motion sensor. The processor is further configured to send the first motion characteristic to a controller. The controller is configured to receive a second motion characteristic generate an output for a display based on the first motion characteristic and the second motion characteristic.
SHIP DATA CONSOLIDATED MANAGEMENT METHOD AND DEVICE
The present invention relates to a ship data consolidated management method and a device for same. Accordingly, the present invention relates to a ship data consolidated management method and device, the method being characterized by comprising the steps of: collecting ship data from at least one piece of ship equipment; converting the ship data to a certain data format; and transmitting the converted ship data to an external device.
Apparatus for providing access to equipment or structures that require maintenance
The present invention relates to an apparatus for providing access to equipment or structures that require maintenance. More particularly, the present invention is suitable to provide access to equipment or structures located offshore, such as wind turbines or structures for oil and gas production. The apparatus comprises a deck, an apparatus structure for supporting the deck, a platform and a platform support mechanism. The platform is movable with respect to the deck from a stowed position to an extended position. In the extended position the platform forms an extension to the deck. The platform support mechanism comprises at least one cable and at least one compression post. The/each cable has a cable first end attached to the platform at or adjacent to a platform leading edge and a cable second end attached to the platform at or adjacent to a platform trailing edge. The/each compression post supports the cable between the cable first end and the cable second end and is adapted to maintain a substantially constant tension in one of said cables as the platform moves from the stowed position to the extended position.
