ANCHORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MARINE VESSELS
Systems and methods for conveniently providing anchoring assistance onboard a watercraft are provided herein. An example system includes a display and a processor in communication with a marine system. The processor is configured to receive marine data from the marine system and/or one or more user inputs and cause the display to show one or more anchoring locations with visual indications of the anchorage quality index based on at least the marine data and/or user inputs. The one or more anchoring locations may be shown as a heat map overlaid on a map. The system may use real-time marine data, environmental data, weather data, tide data, etc. to dynamically adjust the anchoring locations and anchorage quality index. The system may enable convenient and helpful suggestions and notifications to the user when anchoring a watercraft. Some examples provide automatic deployment of an anchoring system and monitoring of a current anchoring.
Boat and control method for same
A sensor that detects a shape of a surrounding environment of a boat and a positional relationship between the surrounding environment and the boat body outputs environment information indicating the shape of the surrounding environment and the positional relationship. A display displays an environment map indicating the surrounding environment. An input accepts an input of a shore arrival target position of the boat body on the environment map and outputs target position information indicating the shore arrival target position. A controller receives the environment information and the target position information, determines a possible shore arrival space of the boat body in the surrounding environment based on the environment information, and corrects the shore arrival target position based on the possible shore arrival space. The controller generates an instruction signal to control a propulsion device so as to cause the boat body to arrive at the shore at the corrected shore arrival target position.
ARTIFICIAL-INTELLIGENCE-BASED WATERWAY INFORMATION SYSTEM
Artificial-intelligence-based river information system. In an embodiment, a first training dataset is used to train a travel time prediction model to predict a travel time along the waterway for a given trip. In addition, a second training dataset is used to train a river level prediction model to predict a river level along the waterway for a given time. For each of a plurality of trips, a request is received that specifies the trip and a time of the trip, and, in response to the request, the travel time prediction model is used to predict a travel time for the trip, and the river level prediction model is used to predict a river level of the waterway at one or more points along the trip. Then, a voyage plan is generated based on one or both of the predicted travel time and the predicted river level.

System for a Very Large Bag (VLB) for Transporting Liquids Powered by Solar Arrays
A Very Large Bag (VLB) suitable for containing and transporting various liquids is disclosed that includes solar arrays to generate electric power. The VLB further comprises various features useful in the transportation, navigation, and storage of liquids on very large bodies of water, such as an ocean. Such features include navigational and positioning devices, powered by solar arrays that include perovskite materials with efficiencies that exceed silicon based solar arrays. Aspects of embodiments of the present invention further include features useful for purifying or preserving the purity of the fluid being transported.
Rollable mast for undersea vehicles
A rollable mast system couplable to an undersea vehicle includes a mast made of a bi-stable composite material configured to roll onto itself in a first state and to stiffen into an elongated stable shape in a second state, and a head structure coupled to a distal end of the mast. The rollable mast system further includes a spool configured to support at least a portion of the bi-stable composite material in its first state and a roller in contact with the bi-stable composite material and configured to pay out the bi-stable composite material from the spool in a direction away from a hull of the undersea vehicle. The bi-stable composite material is in the first state as it passes from the spool to the roller, and the bi-stable composite material is in the second state after it passes the roller.
Method and system for a towed vessel suitable for transporting liquids
A towed vessel suitable for containing and transporting various liquids is disclosed. The vessel further comprises various features useful in the transportation, navigation, and storage of the towable vessel, both when in use for transporting fluids and when transported in an emptied state. Such features include navigational and positioning devices and methods, power supply devices and methods, and means for filling, inflating, emptying, and deflating a non-rigid, towed vessel. Aspects of embodiments of the present invention further include features useful for purifying or preserving the purity of the fluid to be transported.
NAVIGATION AND POSITIONING SYSTEM FOR UNDERWATER GLIDER AND UP FLOATING ERROR CORRECTION METHOD
A navigation and positioning system for an underwater glider includes a micro-electro-mechanical system inertial measurement unit, a global positioning system receiving module, a triaxial magnetometer, a Doppler velocimeter, and an integrated navigation hardware processing system. If a navigation and positioning error is too large, the underwater glider stops working in real time and switches from the underwater working state to the up floating error correction state; and when velocity and location errors of a GPS/INS integrated navigation system are smaller than specified thresholds, the underwater glider switches from the up floating error correction state to the underwater working state and continues to work. An Hoc Kalman filter algorithm based on an adaptive multiple fading factor is established to ensure robustness and adaptability of navigation and positioning of a glider.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING FUEL USAGE OF A MARINE VESSEL
A marine vessel advisory system may be configured to calculate and provide operational information that show fuel consumption savings based on adjustment of vessel speed and/or heading. In an embodiment, the advisory system may operate real-time to collect operational and/or environmental conditions information to be used to calculate alternative operational performance of the marine vessel that will save fuel and reduce emissions. The calculations may include a simulation, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence to determine a speed and/or heading of the marine vessel that will reduce fuel consumption. The advisory system may display the computed information for the operator, and the operator may elect to switch to the alternative operating parameters (e.g., slower speed). In an embodiment, the advisory system may interact directly with a marine vessel system and automatically cause the marine vessel system to adjust operating parameters based on computed operating parameters that saves fuel and reduces emissions.
IMAGE GENERATING DEVICE AND METHOD OF GENERATING IMAGE
The purpose is to provide an image generating device which generates a synthesized image from which one is able to intuitively grasp a relation between an image and a traveling position of a water-surface movable body. The image generating device includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry acquires attitude information indicative of an attitude of a camera or a ship where the camera is installed. The processing circuitry acquires a traveling route of the ship based on a detection result of at least one of a position and a direction of the ship. The processing circuitry generates traveling route display data based on the attitude information and the traveling route. The processing circuitry generates a synthesized image in which the traveling route display data is synthesized with an image outputted from the camera.
