PUMP DEVICE AND OUTBOARD MOTOR
The disclosure provides a pump device and an outboard motor equipped with the same. The pump device to be applied to an outboard motor includes a housing that has an insertion hole into which a drive shaft driven by an engine is to be inserted; and a resin cover member that is fixed to the housing to cover an outer wall surface of the housing in a region having the insertion hole. The cover member has a small-diameter insertion hole having an inner diameter smaller than the insertion hole to allow the drive shaft to be rotatably inserted thereto.
System and method for controlling position of a marine drive
A method of controlling a marine drive on a marine vessel includes receiving a trim position instruction to adjust a trim position of the marine drive, receiving a steering position of the marine drive, determining an allowable steering angle range based on the trim position instruction and/or the adjusted trim position of the marine drive, and controlling a trim actuator to adjust the trim position of the marine drive based on the trim position instruction, the steering position, and the allowable steering angle range such that the steering position of the marine drive remains within the allowable steering angle range for the adjusted trim position.
Marine propulsion control system and method
A propulsion system on a marine vessel includes at least one steerable propulsion device and at least one lateral thruster. A steering wheel is operable by a user to steer the at least one propulsion device. A user interface device is operable by a user to provide at least a lateral thrust command to command lateral movement and a rotational thrust command to command rotational movement of the vessel. A controller is configured to determine a difference between a steering position of the propulsion device and a centered steering position. A user interface display is controllable to indicate at least one of the steering position of the propulsion device and the difference between the steering position and the centered steering position. The controller is further configured to determine that the steering position is within a threshold range of the centered steering position prior to enabling a joystick thrust control mode.
MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEM AND MARINE VESSEL
A marine propulsion system includes a controller configured or programmed to perform a control to rotate a hull by driving an auxiliary propulsion device having a maximum output smaller than a maximum output of a main propulsion device and having a steering angle range wider than a steering angle range of the main propulsion device without generating a thrust from the main propulsion device.
Systems and methods for preserving electrical power in a marine vessel having a marine propulsion device
A method for preserving electrical power in a marine vessel. The method includes operating a variable operating device according to an original setting, measuring an actual system voltage for the marine vessel, and comparing the actual system voltage measured to a target system voltage. The method further includes adjusting the operation of the variable operating device from the original setting based on the comparison of the actual system voltage to the target system voltage, where adjusting the operation changes the electrical power usage in the marine vessel.
Oil sump housing for outboard motor
An oil sump housing for an outboard motor of a marine vessel is provided. The oil sump housing includes an upper mounting flange including multiple upper mounting holes, a lower mounting flange including multiple lower mounting holes, and an inner housing wall and an outer housing wall extending between the upper mounting flange and the lower mounting flange. The inner housing wall defines a transmission mounting cavity, and the inner housing wall and the outer housing wall define an oil containment cavity that at least partially surrounds the transmission mounting cavity.
Device for stabilizing the pressure inside a gears housing or between a wheels hub and the axle its mounted to and related systems and methods
A device for stabilizing pressure inside a gear's housing or a wheel's hub includes a bladder, and a conduit coupled to the bladder and coupleable to a volume containing a lubricant. The bladder includes a chamber having a volume, and is configured such that the chamber's volume increases as a fluid enters the chamber, and decreases as fluid leaves the chamber. The conduit includes a first end positionable adjacent the lubricant containing volume, a second end coupled with the bladder, and a passage between the first and second ends, and is configured to hold fluid disposed in the passage and direct the fluid between the first and second ends. When the conduit is coupled to the lubricant containing volume, the volume of the bladder's chamber, the passage of the conduit and the lubricant containing volume are isolated from the ambient environment.
Method and system for checking an oil level in a marine drive unit
A method for checking the oil level in a marine drive unit, where the drive unit is provided with an external oil filter, an oil level sensor adapted to determine an oil level in the drive unit, and an electronically controlled tilt means, comprising the steps of, initiating an oil level check, controlling the tilt means to tilt the drive unit to a plurality of different tilt angle positions, for each tilt angle position, determining if the oil level sensor detects the oil level in the drive unit, for each tilt angle position, registering the tilt angle of the drive unit and the signal from the oil level sensor, determining at which tilt angles the sensor detects the oil level, and in dependence of the determined tilt angle of the drive unit, determining if the oil level of the drive unit is within a predefined range.
Trolling motor and mount for trolling motor
A mount for a trolling motor pivots the trolling motor between a deployed position and a stowed position. The mount includes a base coupled to a deck of a watercraft and upper and lower arms pivotably coupled to the base. A bracket also couples the upper arm to the lower arm. The mount includes a pivotable latch and an associated latch blocker on the upper or lower arm or the base and a corresponding striker pin configured to engage with the pivotable latch in the deployed and/or stowed position of the trolling motor to lock the upper or lower arm to the base.
MOTORIZED POLE MOUNT FOR SONAR TRANSDUCERS
The present invention is directed to a mounting device for a fish finding apparatus and, more particularly, to a motorized mounting device which includes an adjustable length pole used to mount a sonar transducer or other device an angler may be interested in mounting to the end of the pole that enters the water. The pole is used to spin the transducer or other apparatus in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction with a switch that is adapted to be operated by the angler's foot or a wireless remote. The mounting device is configured to be secured to a boat or mounted on a boat troll motor whereby the adjustable pole is secured and spins independent of the troll motor shaft.
