OPTIMIZED NUTRIENT FATTY ACID COMPOSITION
An optimized nutrient fatty acid composition capable of using as food, skin care, hair care and media for delivery of drugs and nutrients through mucous membrane, skin and parenterally for humans, pets and farm animals, with a ratio of omega 6 fatty acid to omega 3 fatty acids ranging from 1:1 to 1:1.25 stabilized with vitamin E 0.8-4 mg/ml. More specifically a stable fatty acid composition with 50-70% of the total fatty acids as essential and, or semi essential fatty acid of which 25-35% omega 3 fatty acids, 25-35% as omega 6 fatty acids and 20-30% as monounsaturated fatty acids is capable of optimization of bodily functions, maintenance of health, prevention of diseases, promotion of healing, delay aging, and treatment of diseases caused by imbalance in omega 3 and 6 fatty acid ratio in diet and nutritional support for pregnant and lactating women, growing children, senior citizens, sports persons, obese and over weight on calorie restricted diet.
PROCESS FOR MAKING OIL-FREE COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING PHOSPHOLIPDS
The present invention relates to a method of for extracting oil from an oil-containing phospholipid composition, comprising the steps of: (a) Providing the oil-containing phospholipid composition, said composition comprising phospholipids and oil, the oil being in an amount of between and 80 wt % relative to the total weight of the oil composition; (b) Admixing water with the oil-containing phospholipid composition to obtain an aqueous composition, wherein the weight ratio of composition to water is between 6.0:1.0 and 1.3:1.0; (c) Separating the aqueous composition into an oil-rich fraction and an oil-depleted fraction, the oil-depleted fraction comprising water and phospholipids; and (d) removing the separated oil-rich fraction to obtain an aqueous, oil-depleted fraction comprising phospholipids; (e) optionally drying the aqueous, oil-depleted fraction to obtain a dried oil-depleted fraction comprising phospholipids.
PASTE-LIKE OILY FOODSTUFF
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a paste-like oily foodstuff that contains a preset amount of fats and oils, can be easily handled during preparation and yet has a heat resistance and favorable melting feeling in the mouth. The above problem has been solved by finding that a paste-like oily foodstuff, in which the yield value is increased without increasing the plastic viscosity, can be obtained by using a specific emulsifier and the thus obtained paste-like oily foodstuff has a heat resistance, favorable melting feeling in the mouth and good handling properties during preparation.
IMPROVED METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF HIGH LEVELS OF PUFA IN PLANTS
The present invention is concerned with materials and methods for the production of genetically modified plants, particularly where the plants are for the production of at least one unsaturated or polyunsaturated fatty acid. The invention is also concerned with identification of genes conveying an unsaturated fatty acid metabolic property to a plant or plant cell, and generally relates to the field of phosphotidylcholine:diacylglycerol cholinephosphotransferase (PDCT).

Additives and use thereof in corn fermentation process streams and other bioprocesses
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for enhancing oil recovery and protein recovery from a product from a corn fermentation process stream, such as corn syrup. Compositions generally include a product from a corn fermentation stream and an additive including at least one alkylphenol ethoxylate formaldehyde resin, at least one sodium alkyl sulfate, or a blend of at least one anionic surfactant with at least one non-ionic surfactant in a weight ratio of the at least one nonionic surfactant to the at least one anionic surfactant in a range from about 1:20 to about 20:1. Methods combine such an additive with the product from a corn fermentation stream to produce a mixture which is preferably heated and centrifuged to separate oil and protein from the product.
Acyltransferases and uses thereof in fatty acid production
The present invention pertains to the recombinant manufacture of polyunsaturated fatty acids. Specifically, it relates to acyltransferase polypeptides, polynucleotides encoding said acyltransferases as well as vectors, host cells, non-human transgenic organisms containing said polynucleotides. Moreover, the present invention contemplates methods for the manufacture of polyunsaturated fatty acids as well as oils obtained by such methods.
