Autonomous home security devices
An aerial vehicle is programmed or configured to respond to reports of events or conditions within spaces of a facility. The aerial vehicle travels to a location of a reported event or condition and captures data using onboard sensors. The aerial vehicle independently determines whether the reported event or condition is occurring, or is otherwise properly addressed by resources that are available at the location, using images or other data captured by the onboard sensors. Alternatively, the aerial vehicle transmits a request for additional resources to be provided at the location, where necessary. A map of the location generated based on images or other data captured by the onboard sensors may be utilized for any purpose, such as to make one or more recommendations of products that are appropriate for use at the facility.
ORNITROPTER AND ASSOCIATED THRUST GENERATOR
A thrust generator comprising: a motor (17), and a wing mounting (10), comprising a base (11) and a wing (2, 20), the base connected to the motor and configured to rotate the wing mounting about a stroke axis (13) within an angular stroke range, wherein the wing comprises a wing panel (24) having a first longitudinal edge (5) and a second longitudinal edge (6), the wing panel defining a wing surface (4) between the first and second longitudinal edges, and wherein the wing panel is configurable between: a first configuration in which the first longitudinal edge of the wing panel defines a leading edge and the second longitudinal edge of the wing panel defines a trailing edge; and a second configuration in which the second longitudinal edge of the wing panel defines a leading edge and the first longitudinal edge of the wing panel defines a trailing edge, the thrust generator being configured to rotate the wing mounting about the stroke axis in a first direction when the wing panel is in the first configuration and to rotate the base about the stroke axis in a second direction when the wing panel is in the second configuration.
Flying body
[Problem] To provide a flying body having a new structure capable of improving flight efficiency. [Solution] The problem is addressed by a flying body capable of traveling along at least a first direction and comprising an airframe part and an auxiliary part wherein the airframe part has a body part and a lift generating part, the body part having a right part and a left part extending along the first direction and a connecting part whereby the ends of the right part and the left part in a second direction opposing to the first direction are connected. The flying body is thus configured so as to create a surrounded space surrounded by the left part, the right part, and the connecting part when seen from a third direction perpendicular to the first direction.
INSECT-LIKE JUMPING-FLYING ROBOT
An insect-like jumping-flying robot is provided, which includes a flying module, a driving module and biomimetic bouncing legs. The flying module provides flying power via a propeller and a miniature model airplane motor, and front wings and rear wings provide lift, and moment required for attitude change. The driving module provides power with high power density via a brushless motor and is provided with two stages of deceleration to amplify the torque provided by the brushless motor. The first stage of deceleration is performed by a synchronous wheel set, and the second stage of deceleration is performed by a gear set. A driving push rod is used to transmit the power provided by the brushless motor to the biomimetic bouncing legs.
Multimode unmanned aerial vehicle
A system comprising an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) configured to transition from a terminal homing mode to a target search mode, responsive to an uplink signal and/or an autonomous determination of scene change.

Emergency egress in a blended wing body aircraft
Technologies for providing emergency egress routes for a blended wing body aircraft are described herein. In some examples, the emergency egress routes are through a side cabin bulkhead and aft one or more cargo holds. In some examples, the blended wing body aircraft has wings that are high geometry wings. In these examples, the emergency egress routes do not penetrate an aft spar, reducing weight and increasing the integrity of the aircraft.

Flight control for an unmanned aerial vehicle
A lightweight, pocket-sized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that can be held in an outstretched hand by a user for take-off and landing of the UAV. The UAV comprises a semi-toroidal or a substantially toroidal hollow body that defines a duct. The UAV further comprises a motor for rotating a fan that directs air into and out of the duct enabling UAV to take flight. The UAV comprises a flight-control system that comprises at least two flight control surfaces that can alter the directed air as it flows through the duct for controlling the roll and pitch and optionally the yaw of the UAV during flight. The flight control system may be controlled by a microprocessor controller. The UAV further comprises a payload, with at least a wireless transmitter and receiver unit.
Vertical take off and landing aircraft
Embodiments described herein relate to a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, specifically an electric or hybrid electric aircraft having a plurality of ducted fans. The aircraft includes a plurality of axially oriented fans, laterally oriented fans, forward air intakes, side exit ports and rear exhaust ports. The aircraft achieves flight by capturing air in the intakes and diverting the air through the axially oriented fans or the laterally oriented fans through the channels selectively.
