System, method, and apparatus for battery cell-stack compression
The present disclosure relates to the manufacture of battery packs/assemblies and more specifically, the manufacture of battery packs/assemblies for use in aircraft. A lightweight battery assembly with cell compression and/or pressure management system is disclosed herein. The cell compression and/or pressure management system can employ a sealed container housing a volatile vapor. The sealed container can be positioned within the battery enclosure and configured to impart a force to compress the cell-stack.
Unmanned delivery
A method for unmanned delivery of an item to a desired delivery location includes receiving, at an unmanned vehicle, first data representative of an approximate geographic location of the desired delivery location, receiving, at the unmanned vehicle, second data representative of a fiducial expected to be detectable at the desired delivery location, using the first data to operate the unmanned vehicle to travel to the approximate geographic location of the desired delivery location, upon arriving at the approximate geographic location of the desired delivery location, using the second data to operate the unmanned vehicle to detect the fiducial; and upon detecting the fiducial, using the fiducial to operate the unmanned vehicle to travel to the delivery location and deliver the item.
Turbine engine case mount and dismount
A method for mounting a gas turbine engine having a compressor section, a combustor section, a turbine section, a pylon and a rear mount bracket, includes positioning the mounting bracket between the gas turbine engine and the pylon. The mounting bracket is connected to the turbine case reacting a least a vertical load, a side load, a thrust load, and a torque load from the gas turbine engine through the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is attached to the pylon reacting the same loads from the gas turbine engine.
AIRCRAFT FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
An aircraft including a fuselage defining a cabin and baggage bay, engine compartments for receiving engines, an auxiliary power unit compartment for receiving an auxiliary power unit, and a fire suppression system including first and second reservoirs containing a fire suppressant. The reservoirs are each connected to all of the engine compartments for distribution of the fire suppressant thereto. The first reservoir is connected to only one of the auxiliary power unit compartment and baggage bay, and the second reservoir is connected to only the other of the auxiliary power unit compartment and baggage bay. A fire suppression system for an aircraft and a method of connecting a fire suppression system of an aircraft are also discussed.
Propulsion assembly for an aircraft having a turbojet with a non-ducted fan and an attachment pylon
A propulsion assembly for an aircraft, the assembly including a turbojet having at least one unducted propulsive propeller, and an attachment pylon for attaching the turbojet to a structural element of the aircraft, the pylon being positioned on the turbojet upstream from the propeller and having a streamlined profile defined by two opposite side faces extending transversely between a leading edge and a trailing edge. The pylon includes a plurality of blow nozzles situated in the vicinity of its trailing edge and configured to blow air taken from a pressurized portion of the turbojet, the blow nozzles being positioned over at least a fraction of the trailing edge of the pylon that extends longitudinally facing at least a portion of the propeller. A method of reducing the noise generated by a pylon attaching a turbojet to an aircraft is presented.
Turbine engine with an oil guiding device and method for disassembling the turbine engine
A turbine engine is provided with a longitudinal rotation axis having at least one shaft with a radial axis, in particular a pitch change system for the blades of a propeller, said shaft traversing a radial passage of a substantially cylindrical case around the longitudinal axis. The turbine engine includes an annular oil guiding device around the radial shaft. The device has first and second annular parts nested in one another and secured to one another by hooping. The first part is secured by hooping to the radial shaft, and the second part is configured so as to be separated from the first part under the action of a force oriented along the radial axis and exerted on the second part by a member of the turbine engine forming a stop during a radial movement of the radial shaft.
Hybrid aircraft propulsors having electrically-driven augmentor fans
Hybrid aircraft propulsors having electrically-driven augmentor fans are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a turbofan having a core engine and a ducted fan to be rotated via the core engine. The ducted fan includes a plurality of ducted fan blades arranged circumferentially around the core engine and circumscribed by a nacelle. The example apparatus further includes an augmentor fan having an augmentor hub ring and a plurality of augmentor fan blades. The augmentor fan blades are arranged circumferentially around the augmentor hub ring and project outwardly relative to an outer surface of the nacelle. The augmentor fan is to rotate separately from the ducted fan. The example apparatus further includes an electrical drive to rotate the augmentor hub ring in response to a supply of electrical energy provided to the electrical drive.

POWER GENERATION AND PROPULSION ARCHITECTURE USING FLUID FLOW
A turbine system that harnesses energy from natural atmospheric wind and water currents for power generation and storage in a power storage mode, and in a reverse switched operation, sources current to the turbine system from storage power to function in a propulsion mode to propel an associated structure (e.g., boat, aircraft).
Lubrication device for a turbine engine
The invention relates to a lubrication device for a turbine engine, comprising an oil intake pipe (23) provided with a pump (24) for supplying oil and control means (25) located downstream from the supply pump (24), a supply pipe (26) intended for supplying oil to a member to be lubricated and a recirculation pipe (27), the control means (25) making it possible to direct all or part of the flow of oil from the intake pipe (23) towards the supply pipe (26) and/or towards the recirculation pipe (27), the pump (24) being driven by at least one rotary member of an accessory gearbox of the turbine engine.
