COMPOSITIONS INCORPORATING SILICA FIBERS
Embodiments of the invention include articles incorporating fibrous fragments of mats of silica fibers and methods for producing such articles. The fiber mats may be formed via electrospinning of a sol gel produced with a silicon alkoxide reagent, such as tetraethyl ortho silicate, alcohol solvent, and an acid catalyst.
Smart Capsules
The technology relates to a cap 1 having a head 4 and a skirt 7 with a circumferential opening area 20 characterized in that the cap 1 may include a transponder 10 including and antenna circuit 14 and a leg circuit 17 the leg circuit 17 extending to the skirt 7 and being non-releasably affixed to the opening area 20, whereby the leg circuit 17 is breakable by disruption of the opening area 20. The transponder 10 stores and is able to transmit information on the integrity of the cap 1 to a reading device.
Portable beverage container
A portable beverage container is provided. The portable beverage container may include a glass vessel having a neck; a metal outer shell configured to surround a first portion of the glass vessel; a cap configured to engage with the metal outer shell to surround a second portion of the glass vessel; and an amorphous thermoplastic spout having a neck configured to be inserted through an opening in the cap and into the neck of the glass vessel. The spout may be configured to securely engage with the cap. The cap may include a lid with an elastomeric sealing member having a knob configured to extend into a recess in the spout and a recess configured to wrap around and over a lip of the spout. The spout may be removable from the cap while the cap is engaged with the outer shell.
Low weight closure having an improved gripping surface
A closure includes a top panel and a corner section connecting an outer periphery of the top panel with a downwardly extending annular skirt. A plurality of gently curved ridges are spaced about the outer perimeter of the closure. The ridges generally extend from a lower portion of the skirt and around the corner section, with the upper ends of the ridges terminating proximate the top panel outer periphery. A plurality of knurls extend radially outwards from the midpoints of the ridges along the skirt of the closure. The configuration, arrangement, and spacing of the ridges and knurls about the closure provide an enhanced grip and feel, allowing for easier twist-off of the closure from a container. The closure may be used interchangeably with existing capping chucks used to apply conventional closures without requiring any modification to the capping chucks to apply the closures to containers during a capping process.

Retractable covering element and product packaging and application assembly equipped with such a system
The present invention concerns a retractable covering system suitable for covering a handling element protruding from the neck of a product reservoir. In the system, an assembly ring defines a longitudinal axis and an axial direction. A cap is translatable along the longitudinal axis relative to the assembly ring between a deployed position, in which it extends substantially protruding relative to the ring, and a retracted position, in which it is at least partially retracted relative to the ring. An elastic element biasing biases the cap toward the deployed position and a reversible locking device locks the cap in the retracted position.
CAPS AND CLOSURES
This disclosure relates to caps and closures manufactured from an ethylene interpolymer product, or a blend containing an ethylene interpolymer product.
Process for the preparation of plastic composite molded bodies
Process for the preparation of plastic composite molded bodies in which hard-soft molded bodies made of low-melting thermoplastics and light curable polyorganosiloxane compositions are prepared as well as products produced by this process.

Vented cap assembly
A vented cap adapted to accumulate an overflow of liquid from a reservoir and vent gas from the reservoir to atmosphere. The vented cap includes an insert and a shell. The insert includes a projection extending longitudinally from a floor pan. The shell includes an outer skirt joined to and extending longitudinally outwardly from the floor pan and is attached to a top. The top and the outer skirt define a headspace between the floor pan and the top. The projection extends into a portion of the headspace and defines a projection aperture, allowing liquid and gas to flow into the headspace. The vented cap further includes a vent in fluid communication between the headspace and atmosphere.
