The straight region has a weight of not less than 11 times a weight of the reduced pressure absorbing region.

A self-contained meal assembly comprises a heating bag, a food pouch, and a heating element. In operation, a heating element is placed along a bottom portion of a heating bag, a food pouch is placed inside proximate the heating element, a predetermined amount of water or other nonflammable aqueous liquid is added, and the heating bag is resealed thereby allowing an exothermic reaction to occur within the heating bag. One or more steam vents may be formed through a heating bag allow steam to discharge from the interior of the heating bag during operation. The configuration of the steam vent(s) allows a controlled release of high temperature steam from the heating bag as it circulates within the heating bag to the steam vent(s) at a safe discharge angle relative to the sides of the heating bag.

A base portion extends from the sidewall portion and encloses the sidewall portion to form a volume therein for retaining a commodity. The base portion has a contact surface for supporting the container. A plurality of straps extend radially along the base portion away from the longitudinal axis in the transverse direction, each one of the straps defines a strap surface that is closer to the finish than the contact surface. The plurality of ribs and the base portion are configured to place the container in a state of hydraulic charge-up when top load is applied to the container after the container is filled.

MEDICATION SYSTEM

A medication system includes a blister pack. The blister pack includes a sheet containing a plurality of blisters each respectively containing at least one medication. The blister pack further includes a backing positioned on the sheet and a substrate layer having electronic circuitry thereon, the circuitry including traces terminating at one end at positions corresponding to each of the blisters. The blister pack is connected to an edge connector disposed adjacent to an edge of the sheet, the traces terminating at an other end to the edge connector. The medication system also includes a hub in electronic communication with the blister pack. The traces positioned such that each time a blister is punctured, the breakage event is communicated to the hub and recorded.

The present invention relates to improved packages which include a rigid or semi-rigid tray having a single thermoplastic overwrap comprising a polymeric laminate surrounding the tray and having a front panel and an opposing back panel. The inventive packages also include a continuous seal circumscribing a recessed cavity of the tray which comprises a heat seal formed by heat sealing a portion of the front panel to the peripheral flange of the tray. Advantageously, when the tray is removed from the overwrap, a portion of the first film separates from the laminate and remains peelably sealed to the flange of the tray and thus, may serve as a lidding film for the container. Since the recessed cavity is still covered, the container may then be placed directly in a microwave or conventional oven to thaw and/or cook the food container within the package without first removing the lidding film.

Also disclosed are a method of using the container and a process of manufacturing the container.
