Shipping container and insert
10059486 · 2018-08-28 ·

A shipping container for transporting bulk particulate material includes an outer container and an inner container with tapered sides that taper or narrow downward towards a bottom portion of the inner container. As a vacuum removes particulate material from at the bottom portion of the inner container, material higher up in the outer container and/or inner container funnels downward towards a central region at the bottom portion of the inner container and near the mouth of the vacuum tube or hose, filling a void created by the extracted material that is drawn up the tube or hose. The inner container provides a continuous flow of material to the vacuum hose or tube and a more complete emptying of the container, without having to tilt the shipping container or move the vacuum hose or tube in the shipping container.

An expandable-volume liner is usable with a collapsible liquid holding tank frame consisting of top and bottom rails spaced apart by vertical struts. The expandable-volume liner has pliant impervious side walls, a pliant impervious floor panel and at least one pliant impervious collapsible bag extending outwardly from the liner. Each bag is optionally extendable between its respective surrounding top and bottom rails and adjacent struts to conform the tank to the differing footprints presented by various sites and the volume of liquid necessary to accomplish the task at hand. The liners are especially suited to firefighting applications and can be used in conjunction with existing frames built for non-expandable volume liners.

Disclosed are apparatus, systems, and methods, including a cargo transport system comprising a spine assembly, a container assembly, and an outer fairing. The spine assembly comprises a rigid spine and a plurality of mounts arranged on the rigid spine in a plurality of mount rows. The container assembly comprises a plurality of containers secured to the spine assembly using at least a subset of the plurality of mounts. The outer fairing at least partially encloses the container assembly. Each container of the plurality of containers comprises a plurality of fittings for securing the container to the spine assembly and/or another container of the container assembly. The container assembly is enclosed within a pressurization space for pressurizing the container assembly.

Locking retainer system for automotive assembly

A locking retainer system configured to secure an automotive component within a motor vehicle includes a panel defining a T-shaped aperture and a retainer. The T-shaped aperture has a vertical aperture portion and a longitudinal aperture portion. The vertical aperture portion is defined by a first planar portion of the panel and the longitudinal aperture portion is defined by a second planar portion of the panel. The first planar portion is laterally offset from the second planar portion. The retainer has a vertical retainer portion and a longitudinal retainer portion and is attached to the automotive component by an elongated strut intermediate the vertical retainer portion and the automotive component. The panel is configured to receive the retainer within the aperture, thereby securing the automotive component to the panel and limiting motion of the automotive component relative to the panel along vertical, longitudinal, and lateral axes.

An expandable holding tank includes a base supporting a first sidewall to define a liquid retaining enclosure. A second sidewall travels up and down one of an exterior face or an interior face of the first sidewall from a stored position to an operative position. In the stored position, the second sidewall is nested with the first sidewall to position a lower edge of the second sidewall adjacent to the base. In the operative position, the second sidewall is telescopically extended relative to the first sidewall to place the lower edge of the second sidewall at a distance from the base and an upper edge of the second sidewall extending above an upper edge of the first sidewall.
