Matrix and layer compositions for protection of bioactives
The invention relates to matrix and layer compositions comprising a first polymer. The matrix and layer compositions are useful in the delivery of bioactives. In particular, the matrices and layers may have advantageous properties including mechanical properties and protection of bioactives and may also provide for pH-dependent release of a bioactive.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THAT MODULATE DIGESTIBILITY IN A COMPANION ANIMAL
A specific type of digestibility in a companion animal can be improved by adjusting the diet of the animal to increase the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the specific type of digestibility or adjusting the diet of the animal to decrease the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the specific type of digestibility. The specific type of digestibility can be one or more of organic matter digestibility, dry matter digestibility, fiber digestibility, energy digestibility, fat digestibility, or protein digestibility.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THAT MODULATE VITAMIN D AND BONE MINERAL CONTENT IN A COMPANION ANIMAL
Bone mineral content, 25(OH) vitamin D3, or 1,25(OH).sub.2 vitamin D3 in a companion animal can be improved by adjusting the diet of the animal to increase the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the bone mineral content, 25(OH) vitamin D3, or 1,25(OH).sub.2 vitamin D3 or adjusting the diet of the animal to decrease the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the bone mineral content, 25(OH) vitamin D3, or 1,25(OH).sub.2 vitamin D3.
Methyl- and Trifluoromethyl-Substituted Pyrrolopyridine Modulators of RORC2 and Methods of Use Thereof
The present invention provides methyl- and trifluoromethyl-substituted pyrrolopyridines, pharmaceutical compositions thereof, methods of modulating ROR activity and/or reducing the amount of IL-17 in a subject, and methods of treating various medical disorders using such pyrrolopyridines and pharmaceutical compositions thereof.
Pet Food Compositions
Described herein are pet food compositions comprising a Camellia extract obtained from the tissue of a tea which is greater than about 40% oxidized; and a fiber component, wherein the Camellia extract and the fiber component are present in an amount effective to provide, after about 24 hours post-ingestion, a fecal hydrogen sulfide concentration of less than 450 mg/L, and a colonic lumen pH of less than 5.0. Methods of making and using these pet food compositions are also described.
Pet Food Feeding System
A pet food feeding system for effectively distributing and dispensing food to an animal in a controlled manner. The pet food feeding system generally includes a container having a floor, a sidewall extending upwardly from the floor, and an upper opening defined by an upper perimeter of the sidewall. The floor and sidewall define an interior space that receives a volume of dry kibble food pellets. The floor includes a plurality of projections that extend upwardly into the interior space where the pellets fit between thereof. A top closure may be attached to the upper perimeter of the sidewall in a sealed manner to seal the dry kibble food pellets within the interior space.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS THAT MODULATE WHITE BLOOD CELLS OR NEUTROPHILS IN A COMPANION ANIMAL
White blood cells and/or neutrophils in a companion animal can be improved by adjusting the diet of the animal to increase the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the white blood cells and/or neutrophils or adjusting the diet of the animal to decrease the amount of a compound which positively or negatively modulates the white blood cells and/or neutrophils.
