Ceramic pressure measuring cell and method for its manufacture

A method for manufacturing a pressure measuring cell, which has a ceramic platform and a ceramic measuring membrane, wherein the measuring membrane is joined with the platform pressure tightly by an active hard solder, or braze, wherein the method includes: providing the platform, the measuring membrane and the active hard solder, or braze, positioning the active hard solder, or braze, between the platform and the measuring membrane; melting the active hard solder, or braze, by irradiating the active hard solder, or braze, by a laser, wherein the irradiating of the active hard solder, or braze, occurs through the measuring membrane; and letting the active hard solder, or braze, solidify by cooling.

Method for joining substrates

The invention relates to a method of joining substrates. It is the object of the invention in this respect to join substrates of substrate materials together without having to exert an increased effort for a coating with additional coating processes to be carried out and to be able to achieve a good quality of the join connection in so doing. In the method in accordance with the invention a pretreatment of at least one join surface of a substrate to be joined is carried out in low pressure oxygen plasma prior to the actual joining. On the joining, a contact force acts on the substrates to be joined in the range 2 kPa to 5 MPa and in this process a heat treatment is carried out at an elevated temperature of at least 100° C. and at under pressure conditions of a maximum of 10 mbar, preferably <10.sup.−3 mbar.

Method for producing a component from ceramic materials

The invention relates to a method for producing a component from ceramic materials in which a plurality of layers are applied to a base body by means of screen printing or template printing, said layers being formed from a ceramic material, in each case in a defined geometry above one another in the form of a paste or suspension in which powdery ceramic material and at least one binder are included. At least one region is formed here within at least one layer having a defined thickness and geometry composed of a further material that can be removed in a thermal treatment and that is likewise applied in the form of a paste or suspension by means of screen printing or template printing. Electrically functional structures composed of an electrically conductive or semiconductive material are applied to and/or formed on and/or in at least of the ceramic layers prior to the application of a further ceramic layer. The layer structure is then sintered in a thermal heat treatment, with the further material being removed and at least one hollow space being formed with defined dimensions of width, length, and height.

Cordierite sintered body, method for manufacturing the same, composite substrate, and electronic device

In an X-ray diffraction diagram of a cordierite sintered body of the present invention, the ratio of the total of the maximum peak intensities of components other than cordierite components to the peak top intensity of the (110) plane of cordierite is 0.0025 or less. Since having a significantly small amount of different phases other than the cordierite components, this cordierite sintered body has a high surface flatness when the surface thereof is mirror-polished.

A method of manufacturing a gas turbine engine component (10) and the component so formed. The method includes: stacking a plurality of CMC layers (16) along a metal core (30) to form a stack of disconnected CMC layers, wherein adjacent edge faces (46) of the layers define a surface (44); additively depositing ceramic material (14) to only selected portions of the surface (44) to bond together at least some of the layers at their respective edge faces; and selecting locations for the depositing of the ceramic material to achieve a predetermined mechanical characteristic of the resulting component.

Customized magnetic susceptibility materials

One example includes a method for fabricating a compound material. The method includes providing a first discrete material layer having a first thickness dimension. The first discrete material layer includes a first material having a first magnetic susceptibility. The method also includes depositing a second discrete material layer having a second thickness dimension over the first discrete material layer. The second discrete material layer can include a second material having a second magnetic susceptibility. The relative first and second thickness dimensions can be selected to provide a desired magnetic susceptibility of the compound material.

Method for making ceramic thin exterior part

A method for making a thin ceramic part involves making a casting slurry including a ceramic powder, a solvent, a binder, a plasticizer, and a dispersant. The casting slurry is tape casted to achieve a single layer green tape. At least two single layer green tapes are laminated to form a green tape lamination. The green tape lamination is dry pressed, dried, shaped, degreased, and fired to achieve the exterior component required.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BLANK, BLANK AND A DENTAL RESTORATION

The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a blank of a ceramic material, wherein a first ceramic material and then a second ceramic material of different compositions are filled into a die and wherein the materials are pressed and after pressing are sintered. A layer of the first ceramic material is thereby filled into the die and a first cavity formed in the layer, the second ceramic material is then filled into the first open cavity and the materials pressed together and then heat-treated.
