METHOD AND COMPOSITION
20200024204 · 2020-01-23 ·

A method of producing a fertiliser composition, the method comprising: (a) providing a composition comprising an amino compound; (b) contacting the composition provided in step (a) with a composition comprising carbon dioxide; and (c) adding a composition comprising cellulosic fibres to the mixture obtained in step (b).

Iron-supplemented fertilizer

Compositions of a slow-release nitrogen-containing fertilizer and iron chelated to an aminopolycarboxylic acid or a polycarboxylic acid. The composition can be useful as a fertilizer for rapid greening of turfgrass.

A hopper including a buffer compartment defined by side walls, a top end including an opening for receiving solid particles, and a bottom end including an opening for dispensing the solid particles from the buffer compartment. The buffer compartment includes a plurality of essentially vertically positioned cooling plate-like elements for cooling the solid particles in the buffer compartment. A system including hopper, methods of operating the hopper or system, and production of solid particles.

Biochar Aggregate Particles

Biochar aggregate particles are provided that are less than 5 mm and are comprised of biochar fines that are less than 1 mm and a binding agent. The binding agent may be clay, starch, a lignin, a polymer and/or a lipid. The biochar aggregate particles may also include additives and/or surfactants. The biochar fines may further be treated with a surfactant solution, a vacuum, ultrasonics or infused with any number of additives.

Method for Producing Biochar Aggregate Particles

A method for producing biochar aggregate particles that comprising the steps of (i) collecting or producing treated biochar fines less than 1 mm, (ii) adding a binding agent to the fines, (iii) forming the fines and binding agent into solid aggregate particles. The steps may further include, for example, adding additives to the fines, drying the solid aggregate particles, activing the binder after forming the solid aggregate particles with heat or cold temperatures and/or treating the biochar fines prior to forming the aggregate particles.

Biochars for use in composting

A method and system is provided for using biochar in composting environments to control temperature, moisture, acid and pH levels, odors and bacterial cultures. The method further includes treating the biochar prior to combining it with the compost to further control such parameters.
