A cartridge may include a housing, a liquid supply reservoir in the housing and configured to store a pre-vapor formulation, a vaporizer, and a porous plug. The vaporizer may be in liquid communication with the liquid supply reservoir. The vaporizer may be configured to generate a vapor from heating a portion of the pre-vapor formulation. The porous plug may be connected to the housing and separated from the liquid supply reservoir. The porous plug may be permeable to the vapor. The porous plug may enclose a flavoring additive contacting a storage material. The flavoring additive may be configured to at least partially elute from the storage material or at least partially volatilize from the storage material if the vapor flows through the porous plug. An e-vaping device may include the cartridge.

Hybrid tobacco plants from crosses between flue-cured and air-cured tobacco types
The present invention provides a cured hybrid tobacco plant or a part thereof made between a parent flue-cured tobacco plant and a parent non-flue-cured tobacco plant; which cured hybrid tobacco plant or a part thereof comprises one or more flavour compounds which are a breakdown product of cis-abienol at a concentration which is about equal to or greater than the concentration in the cured parent non-flue-cured tobacco plant.
CONCENTRATION OF WET TOBACCO EXTRACTS
A method of manufacturing a concentrated tobacco extract for an aerosol-generating article is provided, including: providing a natural tobacco material; heating the material to a temperature and for a time such that volatile species including nicotine are released from the material, the heating includes heating the material in a flow of inert gas or in a flow of a combination of an inert gas with water or steam or heating the material under vacuum; collecting the released volatile species and forming a liquid, naturally derived tobacco extract including the collected species, a polyhydric alcohol, and at least about 40 percent by weight of water; and heating the liquid extract to evaporate at least some of the water and obtain concentrated tobacco extract, by heating to a temperature and for a time such that a water content in the naturally derived tobacco extract is reduced by at least about 60 percent.
IMPROVED METHOD OF PRODUCING A LIQUID TOBACCO EXTRACT
A method of producing a liquid tobacco extract is provided, the method including the steps of: preparing a tobacco starting material including natural tobacco material such that during the step of preparing the tobacco starting material, the tobacco is not subjected to any treatment adapted to alter the pH of the tobacco; heating the tobacco starting material in a flow of inert gas at an extraction temperature of between 125 degrees Celsius and 160 degrees Celsius for between 90 minutes and 270 minutes; collecting volatile compounds released from the natural tobacco starting material during the heating step; and forming a liquid tobacco extract comprising the collected volatile compounds.
LIQUID TOBACCO EXTRACT, METHOD FOR MAKING AND AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLES COMPRISING SUCH
A liquid tobacco extract is provided, including: a non-aqueous solvent; at least 0.2 percent by weight of nicotine based on a weight of the liquid tobacco extract; and a ratio by weight of (β-ionone+β-damascenone) to (phenol) of greater than 0.25.
METHOD OF PRODUCING A BLENDED LIQUID TOBACCO EXTRACT FROM TWO OR MORE TOBACCOS
A method of producing a blended liquid tobacco extract, including: preparing a first tobacco starting material having a first reducing sugar content and a first nicotine content; preparing a second tobacco starting material having a second reducing sugar content and a second nicotine content, the first and the second starting materials being different from each other and have not been subjected to a prior extraction; heating the first tobacco starting material at a first extraction temperature; heating the second tobacco starting material at a second extraction temperature lower than the first extraction temperature; collecting volatile compounds released from the first and the second starting materials during heating; and combining the collected volatile compounds released from the first and the second starting materials and forming the blended liquid tobacco extract from the combined volatile compounds.
Meltable smokeless tobacco composition
A meltable smokeless tobacco composition configured for insertion into the mouth of a user is provided. The smokeless tobacco composition includes a particulate tobacco material and a lipid having a melting point of about 36° C. to about 45° C. An associated process is also provided. The process includes melting a lipid having a melting point of about 36° C. to about 45° C. to form a molten lipid composition, mixing a particulate tobacco material with the molten lipid composition to form a molten smokeless tobacco composition slurry, and cooling the molten smokeless tobacco composition slurry to form a solidified smokeless tobacco composition.
Translucent smokeless tobacco product
The invention provides a smokeless tobacco product comprising a tobacco extract. In some embodiments, the smokeless tobacco product is translucent. The invention further provides methods for making and using the smokeless tobacco product. In certain embodiments, the smokeless tobacco product comprises isomalt, maltitol syrup, and a translucent tobacco extract prepared by ultrafiltration.
TOBACCO BLEND
Provided herein is a composition for use in a device for generating an inhalable medium, the composition including (a) 20-40% by weight of air-cured and/or fire-cured tobacco, (b) 0-35% by weight of flue-cured and/or sun-cured tobacco that has not been subjected to any further treatment which affects the flavor properties of tobacco, and (c) 25-80% by weight of flue-cured and/or sun-cured tobacco that has been further treated to enhance the flavor properties of tobacco.
