SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR PLANTER WEIGHT TRANSFER
20200352080 · 2020-11-12 ·

An removably installable apparatus and system for managing weight transfer along a tractor drawn tool bar for use in row planting systems is provided. The planter weight transfer system comprises first and second bolt-on bracket assemblies, each bolt-on bracket assembly comprising a primary plate and a secondary plate secured to each other and to a row planter tool bar by a set of fasteners. Additionally, the bolt-on brackets are joined at the top by an actuator which applies a force on the brackets.

SPLIT GAUGE WHEEL SCRAPER
20200281109 · 2020-09-10 ·

A scraper assembly for a split gauge wheel of a planter row unit. The scraper assembly includes a scraper blade having a finger projection configured to extend downwardly into a gap between the inner and outer wheel members of the split gauge wheel. An inner scraper flange extends laterally inward from the finger projection and is disposed in proximity to a circumferential periphery of the inner wheel member. An outer scraper flange extends laterally outward from the finger projection and is disposed in proximity to a circumferential periphery of the outer wheel member. As the gauge wheel rotates, the inner and outer scraper flanges remove soil buildup on the circumferential periphery of the respective inner and outer wheel members and the finger projection removes soil buildup in the gap between the inner and outer wheel members.

ADJUSTABLE FERTILIZER APPLICATION IMPLEMENT
20190357424 · 2019-11-28 ·

The present invention discloses an agricultural implement for applying fertilizer beneath the surface of the soil. The implement has a main frame for connecting the agricultural implement to agricultural equipment. A swing arm is pivotally connected to the main frame. An adjustable actuator interconnects the swing arm to the main frame to control the movement of the swing arm with respect to the main frame. A pair of discs are mounted to the free end of the swing arm for rotation with respect to the swing arm. The discs are offset mounted with respect to one another and are angled outwardly with respect to the direction of travel of the implement. The discs form grooves for receipt of fertilizer. Fertilizer tubes are mounted to the swing arms adjacent the discs. The fertilizer tubes deposit fertilizer in the grooves formed by the discs.

System and method for reducing variations in the penetration depths of ground-engaging tools of an agricultural implement based on monitored tire pressures
10356972 · 2019-07-23 · ·

In one aspect, a system for reducing variations in the penetration depths between ground-engaging tools of an agricultural implement may include an implement having tires spaced apart from each other. The system may also include pressure sensors provided in operative association with the tires, each pressure sensor being configured for detecting an air pressure within the associated tire. Additionally, the system may include a controller communicatively coupled to the pressure sensors. The controller may be configured to monitor an air pressure differential between a pair of tires based on measurement signals received from the pressure sensors. The air pressure differential may be indicative of variability in the penetration depths of the ground-engaging tools. Furthermore, the controller may be configured initiate a control action associated with reducing the variability in the penetration depths of ground-engaging tools when the air pressure differential exceeds or falls below a predetermined tire pressure differential threshold.
