IMPROVED ACRYLIC LIQUID APPLIED SOUND DAMPERS
Novel water-based acrylic coating compositions which provide superior noise suppression are disclosed. Water-based compositions comprised of acrylic polymer, resins, and/or plasticizer, after curing, provide improved vibration damping to solid substrates. Such substrates include the metal surfaces of passenger and commercial vehicles. Resins and plasticizers which provide superior and unexpectedly high vibration damping are disclosed.

PROPYLENE-BASED RESIN COMPOSITION AND INJECTION-MOLDED OBJECT THEREOF
A propylene-based resin composition containing components (A), (B), and (C) is provided. The content of (A) is 50 to 89 parts by weight, the content of (B) is 11 to 50 parts by weight, and the content of (C) is 0.05 to 1 part by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the total of (A) and (B). Component (A) is a propylene-based polymer, component (B) is a filler, and component (C) is a bis(3,4-dialkylbenzylidene)sorbitol represented by the formula (1)
##STR00001##
In formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms. It is possible to produce a molded article which has high rigidity and in which the linear expansion coefficients in the MD and the TD are small from the composition.
Composition and method for manufacturing resins
Certain embodiments of the invention described herein comprise a composition of matter, and method for preparing the same, which provide the benefits of pre-reaction molecular configuration favoring high liquidity properties, and post-reaction configuration that favors mechanical strength, stiffness, and properties associated with high viscous and/or solid-state materials. In some embodiments, the composition of matter can comprise relaxing photo-isomerizable fragments, of which a fraction can be transformed from trans to cis configurations upon exposure to a photon source. In some embodiments, the composition of matter further comprises thermally reactive fragments, of which can enable thermal solidification of a mixture upon exposure to elevated temperatures. In some embodiments, a composition of matter can be combined with reinforcing additives to form a prepreg combination.
