An organic electronic device, preferably an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), comprising at least one metal-carbene complex comprising one, two or three specific bidentate diazabenzimidazole carbene ligands; a light-emitting layer comprising said metal-carbene complex as emitter material, preferably in combination with at least one host material; the use of said metal-carbene complex in an OLED; an apparatus selected from the group consisting of stationary visual display units, mobile visual display units, illumination units, units in items of clothing, units in handbags, units in accessories, units in furniture and units in wallpaper comprising said organic electronic device, preferably said OLED, or said light-emitting layer; the metal-carbene complex comprising one, two or three specific bidentate diazabenzimidazole carbene ligands mentioned above and a process for the preparation of said metal-carbene complex.

ULTRA-VIOLET ABSORBING COMPOUNDS

Novel compounds able to absorb UV radiation and comprise antimicrobial properties as well. The compounds are novel and undisclosed scytonemin analogs, able to absorb up to 90% of UV-A radiation and can cover a broader UV to blue light absorption range from 293 nm to 500 nm. When mixtures of more than one compound are used, their synergetic absorption properties can cover an even broader spectrum within 293 nm to 500 nm. The compounds present faint coloration, and some are even colorless, therefor the present compounds can be easily incorporated in formulations to be used in cosmetic products, sunscreens or lenses for sunglasses.

Compositions and systems for renal function determination

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for determining the renal glomerular filtration rate or assessing the renal function in a patient in need thereof. The system includes a computing device, a power supply, one or more sensors, and at least one tracer agent that fluoresces when exposed to electromagnetic radiation. The electromagnetic radiation is detected using the sensors, and the rate in which the fluorescence decreases in the patient is used to calculate the renal glomerular filtration rate in the patient.

NEAR-INFRARED FLUORESCENT INDICATORS FOR LYSOSOME AND APPLICATION THEREOF

The present disclosure relates to Near-infrared fluorescent indicators for lysosomes and application thereof. These indicators are composed of lipophilic NIR BODIPY derivatives and ionizable bis-tertiary amine moiety, which enable the formation of a transient amphiphilic state in acidic environments specifically. This structural feature affords accurate lysosomal membrane targeting ability at nanomole staining concentration.

A self-luminous display device includes a wavelength selective absorption filter containing a resin and a dye including dye A, which has a main absorption wavelength band (WB) at a wavelength of 390 to 435 nm, a dye B, which has a main absorption WB at a wavelength of 500 to 520 nm, and a dye C, which has a main absorption WB at a wavelength of 580 to 620 nm, and a light emitting diode source, the wavelength selective absorption filter satisfies a definition according to Expression (I): T.sub.min (500 to 520)−T.sub.min (580 to 620)>0%; where T.sub.min indicates a minimum transmittance (%) at the cited wavelength, and a self-luminous display device in which the wavelength selective filter has a specific gas barrier layer directly disposed on at least one surface of the wavelength selective absorption filter.

HPTS series derivatives and synthesis method therefor

Disclosed are HPTS series derivatives and a synthesis method thereof, belonging to the field of organic synthesis. The HPTS series derivatives are prepared by introducing alkylamine or alcohol into sulfonic acid groups of HPTS. The synthesis method comprises the following steps: subjecting HPTS and phosphorus oxychloride to heating and reflux reaction for 12 hours under catalysis of DMF to obtain a reaction product; introducing the reaction product into ice water, stirring, precipitating solid, and performing suction filtration to obtain HPTS-SO.sub.2Cl; dissolving the HPTS-SO.sub.2Cl in tetrahydrofuran to prepare solution A, and dissolving alkylamine or alcohol in tetrahydrofuran to prepare solution B; mixing the solution A with the solution B and then reacting for 24 hours at normal temperature, obtaining a product by rotary evaporation, and obtaining a pure compound after separation through columns. The derivatives have strong fat solubility, overcome the defect of a very strong water solubility.
