A water-based adhesive which comprises a dispersed polymer and an emulsified silicone resin polymer. The adhesive is postcrosslinkable via reactive groups.

Self-stick insulation and methods

A method of using a self-stick insulation. The method includes providing a piece of insulation product with an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating includes polystyrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) and/or polyacrylic acid (PAA); an alcohol amine; and at least one of a polyvinyl alcohol and a starch. The adhesive coating is then activated with liquid water. Once the adhesive coating is active, the insulation product is attached to a surface with the adhesive coating.

A method of using a self-stick insulation. The method includes providing a piece of insulation product with an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating includes polystyrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) and/or polyacrylic acid (PAA); an alcohol amine; and at least one of a polyvinyl alcohol and a starch. The adhesive coating is then activated with liquid water. Once the adhesive coating is active, the insulation product is attached to a surface with the adhesive coating.

In an embodiment a solvent composition can comprise, based on the total volume of the solvent composition, 10 to 95 volume percent of a first solvent, wherein the first solvent has Hansen solubility parameters of: 15 MPa.sup.0.5≤δ.sub.D≤17 MPa.sup.0.5, 4≤δ.sub.P≤10.5 MPa.sup.0.5, and 7≤δ.sub.H≤10 MPa.sup.0.5; 5 to 95 volume percent of a second solvent, wherein the second solvent has Hansen solubility parameters of: 16 MPa.sup.0.5≤δ.sub.D≤17.5 MPa.sup.0.5, 0≤δ.sub.P≤3 MPa.sup.0.5, and 0≤δ.sub.H≤3 MPa.sup.0.5; and 0 to 85 volume percent parachlorobenzotrifluoride; wherein the amounts of the first solvent, the second solvent, and parachlorobenzotrifluoride sum to at least 85 volume percent. The first solvent can comprise methyl acetate, acetone, dimethyl carbonate, ethyl acetate, n-butylamine, propyl acetate, tetrahydrofuran, or a combination thereof. The second solvent can comprise cyclohexene, cyclohexane, cyclopentane, methylcyclohexane, or a combination thereof. The solvent compositions are particularly useful in an adhesive composition. An adhesive composition includes the solvent composition, a rubber, and a tackifying resin. A method of bonding two surfaces is also described.

Polymer composition and fiber or non-woven fabric made therefrom

The present invention provides a polymer composition for fibers or non-woven fabrics, comprising a vinyl aromatic based copolymer and 0 to 30 wt % of an olefin based polymer based on the total weight of the polymer composition. The vinyl aromatic copolymer is represented by a formula A1-B-A2, wherein block A1 and block A2 are the same or different vinyl aromatic blocks, block A1 or block A2 having 3,800 to 4,800 of a peak molecular weight, and block B is a hydrogenated conjugated diene block. A vinyl structure content of a conjugated diene monomer content in the vinyl aromatic based copolymer is from 32 wt % to 50 wt %; and a melt flow index (MFI) of the vinyl aromatic based copolymer is 20 g/10 min˜60 g/10 min (230° C., 2.16 kg). The present invention also provides the fibers or the non-woven fabrics made from the polymer composition.

A laminate debonding method includes producing a laminate by joining a first substrate formed of a semiconductor-forming substrate to a second substrate formed of a support substrate which allows passage of infrared laser light, by the mediation of a first adhesive layer provided on the first substrate and a second adhesive layer provided on the second substrate, wherein the first adhesive layer is obtained by curing an adhesive (A) containing a component which is cured through hydrosilylation, and the second adhesive layer is obtained by use of an adhesive (B) formed of a polymer adhesive having an aromatic ring in at least one of a main chain and a side chain and which allows passage of infrared laser light; and irradiating the laminate with infrared laser light from a second substrate side for debonding the second substrate at the interface between the first and second adhesive layers.

One-component pressure-sensitive adhesive composition having gel content based on reversible crosslinking via metal salts

A description is given of a one-component pressure-sensitive adhesive composition in the form of an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising at least one pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer which is formed by emulsion polymerization of soft (meth)acrylic ester monomers, methacrylic acid, and optionally further monomers, where the polymerization takes place in the presence of chain transfer agents or styrene. The pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer has a gel content which is based at least partly on a reversible crosslinking via metal salts. The one-component pressure-sensitive adhesive composition can be used for producing adhesive labels, adhesive tapes or adhesive foils.
