PLANT MATTER SMOKE AND VAPOR COLLECTION DEVICE
Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a plant matter burning or vaporization apparatus comprising a plant matter receptacle for containing plant matter, and a burning/vaporization region for burning or vaporization of plant matter to produce a plant compound vapor, and a plant matter conduit operable to continuously convey plant matter to the burning/vaporization region. Embodiments of the disclosure also relate to a solvent combination apparatus comprising or operatively connected to a vapor conduit located at or at a distance from the burning/vaporization region, from which the plant compound vapor is removed from the environment of the plant matter and conveyed to a solvent in which the plant compound vapor is dissolved. The dissolution of the plant compound vapor in the solvent may be assisted by passing the solvent and smoke/vapor through a nozzle creating a region of high pressure.
Processing quarantined materials
A method and an apparatus for destroying biosecurity hazards in quarantined feed materials and producing valuable products that are safe and have economic value is disclosed. The apparatus includes a continuous converter (3) that has a reaction chamber (5) for producing a solid carbon-containing product, a gas product, and optionally an oil product and a separate water-based condensate product in the chamber, via pyrolysis or other reaction mechanisms.

Pyrolysis oil and method and system for the production thereof
A method for producing a pyrolysis oil is described. In said method, a feedstock to be treated is first pyrolyzed in a pyrolysis zone, in which the feedstock is heated to a temperature of 250 degrees Celsius to 700 degrees Celsius; and pyrolyzed solids and pyrolysis vapors are formed. The pyrolysis vapors are then reformed at a temperature of 450 degrees Celsius to 1,200 degrees Celsius in a post-conditioning zone, in which the pyrolysis vapors are brought into contact with a catalyst bed, wherein the pyrolysis oil is formed. In this case, the catalyst comprises a pyrolyzed solid, which can be obtained according to the pyrolysis, described above. Finally the pyrolysis oil is separated from the additional pyrolysis products, which are formed, in a separation unit.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FORMALDEHYDE CONTROL
Methods are provided to use water-free quench liquids to obtain pyrolytic liquid products with reduced formaldehyde content. Products include liquids with improved hydroxyacetaldehyde content.
Demetallization of liquid biomass
Methods, processes, systems, or apparatus are provided to remove contaminants such as metals and chlorine present in a pyrolysis stream to form reduced-contaminant liquid biomass. In certain embodiments, for example, a metal chelating agent is dissolved into a metal-containing pyrolysis stream condensate to form metal chelate complex, followed by filtering to obtain the reduced-contaminant liquid biomass.

CATALYTIC HOT-GAS FILTRATION OF BIOMASS PYROLYSIS VAPORS
The present disclosure relates to a device that includes a filter element and a catalyst, where the filter element is configured to remove particulate from a stream that includes at least one of a gas and/or a vapor to form a filtered stream of the gas and/or the vapor, the catalyst is configured to receive the filtered stream and react a compound in the filtered stream to form an upgraded stream of the gas and/or the vapor, further including an upgraded compound, and both the filter element and the catalyst are configured to be substantially stable at temperatures up to about 500 C.
Fast pyrolysis of biomass in an autothermally operating reactor
The present invention is directed to a pyrolysis method. The method involves providing a biomass and subjecting the biomass, in a reactor operating under conditions of parasitic heat loss of less than 1% of the biomass' chemical energy content, to partial oxidation where, during steady state operation of the reactor, oxygen is provided to the reactor in sufficient quantity to achieve an equivalence ratio of 0.06 to 0.15 to release sufficient energy to support endothermic pyrolysis reactions and produce condensable organic compounds as the major portion of the pyrolysis products.
