Process for the production and purification of sterols
The presently claimed invention relates to a process for the production and purification of sterols from oil distillates or oil distillation residues, in particular from the latter. Specifically, the presently claimed invention relates to a process for obtaining sterols in a pure form with reduced impurity and improved color.
Processes for isotopic modification of polyunsaturated fatty acids and derivatives thereof
Disclosed herein are methods for preparing isotopically modified polyunsaturated lipids containing 1,4-diene systems involving selective isotopic modification of one or more bis-allylic positions of the polyunsaturated lipids in the presence of a transition metal catalyst.

METHOD FOR REDUCING DEACTIVATION OF A HYDROTREATMENT CATALYST
The present invention relates to a method for reducing deactivation of a hydrotreatment catalyst. The hydrotreatment catalyst is used as a main active catalyst for producing renewable hydrocarbons by hydrotreatment from a renewable feedstock which comprises at least an oxygen containing compound, at least one metal containing compound and at least one phosphorus containing compound as impurities. The method comprising adjusting the metal to phosphorus (M:P) weight ratio of the renewable feedstock to a value within the range from 0.70 to 1.26, measured as elemental metal and elemental phosphorus, subjecting the obtained feedstock to a temperature of from 190 to 400° C. under reducing conditions, thereby forming a solid precipitate comprising at least one metal and phosphorus containing compound, and contacting the obtained liquid renewable feedstock with the main active catalyst, in the presence of hydrogen.
Method for preparing low-sulfur biodiesel
The present invention relates to a method for preparing low-sulfur biodiesel. The method includes the following steps: subjecting raw crude oil to heat exchange, preheating, glycerol esterification reaction, flashing, cooling, transesterification, dealcoholization, sedimentation, and methyl ester rectification to obtain low-sulfur biodiesel up to the standard, where in the heat exchange process, the raw crude oil exchanges heat with flashed oil to recycle some heat, and glycerol and fatty acids in a distilled product subjected to flashing are reused for the glycerol esterification reaction; the dealcoholization process removes methanol in a system after the transesterification, and refined methanol recycled by methanol rectification is reused for the transesterification reaction; crude glycerol generated in the sedimentation process does not need to be treated and is directly used for glycerol rectification to obtain refined glycerol, and the refined glycerol is reused for the glycerol esterification reaction.
SCALE INHIBITING METHOD WITH PHOSPHATED NATURAL OILS
Methods of applying a triglyceride-based oil phosphate with ability to reduce or prevent scale development are described. Scale development may occur in formations, casings, valves, pipes, and pumps around an oil producing wellbores, or water systems involving swamp coolers, evaporators, heating systems, and steam generators. Scale reducing compositions and methods of making them are also described.

Processes and systems for catalytic manufacture of wax ester derivatives
Processes for transesterifying wax esters. Implementations may include providing a feedstock including wax esters, introducing into the feedstock an alcohol with a carbon number ranging from 1 to 34 carbons where the alcohol is selected from the group consisting of a straight chain alcohol, a branched chain alcohol, any combination of straight chain alcohols, any combination of branched chain alcohols, and any combination thereof. The process may include contacting the feedstock with a lipase, and catalytically transesterifying the wax esters in the feedstock with the lipase to form a transesterified product. The enzymatically transesterified product may be adapted to produce a finished product having a certain formula that has a viscosity that substantially matches a viscosity of a finished product having the same certain formula including chemically catalyzed transesterified wax esters.
LIGNIN ESTERIFIED WITH A MIXTURE OF SATURATED AND UNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS
The present invention relates to a composition of functionalized lignin where the composition exhibits a good stability and where the composition may be used for preparing fuels. The invention further relates a method of preparing the composition.
Solvent extraction of oil from distillers dried grains and methods of using extraction products
A process for extraction of crude oil from distillers dried grain solubles and/or distillers dried grains using a solvent extraction process and producing corn distillers meal that may be used as an animal feed supplement is disclosed. The corn distillers meal may be used as a crude protein supplement for use in a livestock feed diet, poultry feed diet, aquatic feed diet or the like. The solvent extracted crude oil may be suitable for other processes, including oleochemical processing for personal care and home care products, biodiesel production, and/or renewable diesel production from hydro-treating the extracted oil to make green diesel fuel.
