Automated cell processing methods, modules, instruments, and systems
In an illustrative embodiment, automated multi-module cell editing instruments are provided to automate multiple edits into nucleic acid sequences inside one or more cells.
HIGH-THROUGHPUT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE TEMPORARY PERMEABLIZATION OF CELLS
A microfluidic device for processing cells for the intracellular delivery of molecules or other cargo includes a plurality of microchannels disposed in a substrate or chip and fluidically coupled to an inlet configured to receive a solution containing the cells and the molecules or other cargo to be delivered intracellularly to the cells. Each of the plurality of microchannels has one or more constriction regions therein, wherein the constriction regions comprise an omniphobic, superhydrophilic, or superhydrophobic surface. In some embodiments, multiple microfluidic devices operating in parallel are used to process large numbers of cells. The device and method has particularly applicability to delivering gene-editing molecules intracellularly to cells.
AUTOMATED CELL PROCESSING METHODS, MODULES, INSTRUMENTS, AND SYSTEMS
In an illustrative embodiment, automated multi-module cell editing instruments are provided to automate multiple edits into nucleic acid sequences inside one or more cells.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PHOTOACTIVATION OF PLATELET-RICH PLASMA
A device and method for activating platelet-rich plasma prior to injection. The device includes a lamp that has multiple LEDs for generating a desired light spectrum, such as red, blue, yellow, and green. The PPR is activated by exposure to polychromatic light generated by the lamp.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BIOPROCESSING
A bioprocessing system includes a first module configured for enriching and isolating a population of cells, a second module configured for activating, genetically modifying, and expanding the population of cells, and a third module configured for harvesting the expanded population of cells.
CELL-CULTURE BIOREACTORS
A bioreactor is provided, comprising a housing extending along a vertical axis and defining an internal cavity therewithin, top and bottom covers at opposite ends of the housing, and a plurality of ports, each configured to facilitate fluid communication between the internal cavity and the exterior of the bioreactor. The internal cavity has a frustoconical shape, the frustoconical shape being formed such that horizontal cross-sections are coaxial about a line which is angled with respect to the vertical axis.
Apparatuses and methods using nanostraws to deliver biologically relevant cargo into non-adherent cells
Nanostraws and to methods of utilizing them in order to deliver biologically relevant molecules such as DNA, RNA, proteins etc., into non-adherent cells such as immune cells, embryos, plant cells, bacteria, yeast etc. The methods described herein are repeatedly capable of delivering biologically relevant cargo into non-adherent cells, with high cell viability, dosage control, unaffected proliferation or cellular development, and with high efficiency. Among other uses, these new delivery methods will allow to scale pre-clinical cell reprogramming techniques to clinical applications.

Methods, tip assemblies and kits for introducing material into cells
Methods, tip assemblies and kits are provided for introducing material into cells. The tip assemblies include an attachment portion, a channel portion, and a constriction that function to reduce fluid pressure as a fluid passes through the constriction portion from the channel portion, whereby the tip assemblies form pores in the membranes of cells and introduce material into the cells. The material includes for example one selected from the group of: an inorganic compound, a drug, a genetic material, a protein, a carbohydrate, a synthetic polymer, and a pharmaceutical composition.
