Allografts combined with tissue derived stem cells for bone healing
There is disclosed a method of combining mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with a bone substrate. In an embodiment, the method includes obtaining tissue having MSCs together with unwanted cells. The tissue is digested to form a cell suspension having MSCs and unwanted cells. The cell suspension is added to the substrate. The substrate is cultured to allow the MSCs to adhere. The substrate is rinsed to remove unwanted cells. In various embodiments, the tissue is adipose tissue, muscle tissue, or bone marrow tissue. In an embodiment, there is disclosed an allograft product including a combination of MSCs with a bone substrate in which the combination is manufactured by culturing MSCs disposed on the substrate for a period of time to allow the MSCs to adhere to the substrate, and then rinsing the substrate to remove unwanted cells from the substrate. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR THE EX VIVO CULTIVATION OF ORAL MUCOSAL EPITHELIAL PROGENITOR CELLS AND ORAL MUCOSAL EPITHELIAL CELLS
A method for the ex vivo cultivation of oral mucosal epithelial progenitor cells and oral mucosal epithelial cells includes: subjecting an oral mucosal tissue to an enzymatic digestion treatment with collagenase, so as to obtain cell aggregates which include oral mucosal epithelial progenitor cells and oral mucosal epithelial cells; cultivating the cell aggregates with an amniotic membrane in a serum-free platelet lysate-containing medium in the absence of feeder cells, so that the cell aggregates are adhered onto the amniotic membrane; and subsequently cultivating the cell aggregates adhered on the amniotic membrane in a serum-free proliferation-facilitating medium in the absence of feeder cells.
CLINICAL-GRADE AUTOLOGOUS BRONCHIAL BASAL CELL, DELIVERABLE FORMULATION, AND PREPARATION PROCESS
Provided are a clinical-grade autologous bronchial basal cell, a deliverable formulation thereof, and a preparation process. The preparation process comprises the following steps: acquiring and digesting an in vitro active bronchoscopic brushed-off biopsy tissue, and collecting cells after digestion is terminated; plating the digested cells on a culture plate pre-coated with feeder layer cells, collecting the cultured cells to perform amplification culture on a culture plate pre-coated with feeder layer cells, and when the cells grow to cover 50%-90% of the surface area of the culture plate, performing cell passage operation; and when passaged culture cells grow to cover 85%-95% of the surface area of a culture dish, digesting and collecting adhered cells, and washing. The clinical-grade bronchial basal cell prepared by this method can differentiate stably after the cells reach the lesion and significantly achieve the damaged lung tissue regeneration.
METHODS OF HUMAN RETINAL PROGENITOR CELL ISOLATION AND CULTURE
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for treating, ameliorating or preventing a retinal disease or condition; improving a photopic (day light) vision; for improving correcting visual acuity, improving macular function, improving a visual field, or improving scotopic (night) vision by administration of retinal progenitor cells.
Cartilage and bone repair and regeneration using postpartum-derived cells
Cells derived from postpartum tissue and methods for their isolation and induction to differentiate to cells of a chondrogenic or osteogenic phenotype are provided by the invention. The invention further provides cultures and compositions of the postpartum-derived cells and products related thereto. The postpartum-derived cells of the invention and products related thereto have a plethora of uses, including but not limited to research, diagnostic, and therapeutic applications, for example, in the treatment of bone and cartilage conditions.
PRODUCTION OF CANINE PANCREATIC ISLETS FROM AN IMMATURE PANCREAS
The present invention relates to an in vitro method for preparing and producing canine pancreatic islets from immature pancreatic tissue. Such islets express, produce and secrete insulin upon glucose stimulation. The invention further encompasses canine pancreatic islets obtainable according to the present method, islet population of said islets and compositions comprising said islets. It also relates to transduced canine pancreatic islets, or tumours or cells derived thereof. The present invention also concerns the use of said canine pancreatic islets or cells derived thereof for treating a canine pancreatic disorder, such as canine diabetes, or for diagnosing canine diabetes.
LYOPHILIZED MESENCHYMAL STEM CELL DERIVED SECRETOME AND USES THEREOF
The present application provides methods and processes for making and using a lyophilized mesenchymal stem cell secretome, as well as methods for treating ocular conditions and/disorders with the reconstituted lyophilized mesenchymal stem cell secretome described herein.
METHODS OF PREPARING AND USING NOVEL STEM CELL COMPOSITIONS AND KITS COMPRISING THE SAME
The present invention provides novel stem cell compositions having significant therapeutic and practical advantages, as well as methods of preparing and using such compositions for the treatment and prevention of injury and disease in patients. The invention may be applied to stem cell populations isolated from a wide variety of animals, including humans, and tissues. In particular applications, the invention is used to prepare a stem cell composition from a collagen-based tissue, such as adipose tissue, isolated from a patient, and the stem cell composition is subsequently provided to a site of actual or potential injury in the patient. The invention further includes related kits comprising the stem cell compositions, which are remarkably stable and retain viability and efficacy during storage and shipment.
CELL CULTURE ARTICLE AND METHODS THEREOF
A cell culture article, including: a substrate comprising a polygalacturonic acid compound selected from at least one of: pectic acid; partially esterified pectic acid having a degree of esterification from 1 to 40 mol %, or salts thereof; and an adhesion polymer on the surface of the polygalacturonic acid compound. A method of making and using the article are also disclosed.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR EXTRACTION OF MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS
Compositions and methods for the extraction mesenchymal cells from deceased donor bone, and therapeutic applications thereof, along with combination therapeutic applications comprising mesenchymal cells from deceased donors and bone marrow derived from deceased donors are presented.
