TRACK PAD WITH UNIFORM HARDENED REGION
A track pad may include a base member and a roller path member extending from the base member. The roller path member may include a roller path surface for engaging with a roller of a machine. The roller path member may include a leading side and a trailing side in a direction of travel of the machine. The roller path member may include a hardened region that extends from the roller path surface and a body region adjacent the hardened region. The hardened region may have a greater hardness than the body region. The hardened region may have a uniform depth from the leading side to the trailing side of the roller path member.
CONTROLLED THERMAL COEFFICIENT PRODUCT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A controlled thermal coefficient product manufacturing system and method is disclosed. The disclosed product relates to the manufacture of metallic material product (MMP) having a thermal expansion coefficient (TEC) in a predetermined range. The disclosed system and method provides for a first material deformation (FMD) of the MMP that comprises at least some of a first material phase (FMP) wherein the FMP comprises martensite randomly oriented and a first thermal expansion coefficient (FTC). In response to the FMD at least some of the FMP is oriented in at least one predetermined orientation. Subsequent to deformation, the MMP comprises a second thermal expansion coefficient (STC) that is within a predetermined range and wherein the thermal expansion of the MMP is in at least one predetermined direction. The MMP may be comprised of a second material phase (SMP) that may or may not transform to the FMP in response to the FMD.
High-strength and corrosion-resistant sucker rod and preparation process thereof
A high-strength and corrosion-resistant sucker rod and a preparation process thereof are disclosed. Raw materials for preparing the high-strength and corrosion-resistant sucker rod include, by weight percent, Mn: 0.70% to 1.20%, Cr: 9.50% to 13.50%, Ni: 0.65% to 1.10%, Mo: 0.10% to 0.90%, Cu: 0.28% to 0.56%, C: ≤0.07%, Si: ≤0.50%, P: ≤0.08%, and S: ≤0.005%, the balance is Fe and unavoidable impurities. The sucker rod prepared by the new process has an actual grain size equal to or greater than grade 8, excellent mechanical properties that meet the standard of grade HL specified in SY/T5029 Sucker Rods, and excellent corrosion fatigue resistance. The preparation process is simple and easy for operation, and suitable for large-scale promotion.

The present invention relates to a steel for a mold, which has a composition containing, on % by mass basis: 0.35%≤C≤0.40%, 0.003%≤Si≤0.20%, 0.72%≤Mn≤0.94%, 5.65%≤Cr≤6.00%, 1.65%≤Mo≤2.00%, 0.71%≤V≤0.90%, and 0.001%≤N≤0.080%, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities.
Device and Method for Water Spray Quenching
The invention relates to a device for water spray quenching that includes (i) a quenching chamber designed and set up to receive metallic workpieces, with a batch of volume V.sub.0 of 0.045 to 3.5 m.sup.3 and (ii) at least one atomizer which is configured to atomize water in air or nitrogen and is fluidically connected to the quenching chamber; in which the at least one atomizer and the device are designed and set up to generate a spray mist with a water content of 2.5 to 40 vol. % and a Sauter mean diameter of 20 to 2000 m and also a spray mist flow through the batch volume V.sub.0 of 0.05 to 25 m.sup.3/s.
BALL SCREW, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BALL SCREW, POWER STEERING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING POWER STEERING DEVICE
An object of the present invention is to provide a ball screw having a structure in which a screw shaft and a nut satisfy required performance and having improved durability, a method for manufacturing the ball screw, a power steering device, and a method for manufacturing the power steering device.
A ball screw according to the present invention includes: a nut made of a steel substrate having an inner peripheral surface on which a female screw is formed; a screw shaft that is combined with the nut and is made of a steel substrate having an outer peripheral surface on which a male screw facing the female screw is formed; and a plurality of balls arranged between the female screw and the male screw. A surface of the nut in contact with the ball and a surface of the screw shaft in contact with the ball each have carburized layers. A carbon concentration in the carburized layer of the nut is higher than a carbon concentration in the carburized layer of the screw shaft.
Method of metallic component surface modification for electrochemical applications
Method for forming a metallic component surface to achieve lower electrical contact resistance. The method comprises modifying a surface chemical composition and creating a micro-textured surface structure of the metallic component that includes small peaks and/or pits. The small peaks and pits have a round or irregular cross-sectional shape with a diameter between 10 nm and 10 microns, a height/depth between 10 nm and 10 microns, and a distribution density between 0.4 million/cm.sup.2 and 5 billion cm.sup.2.
Track shoe or track pad having a wear member
A track shoe includes a base plate, a grouser extending from the base plate, and at least one white iron member. At least a portion of the grouser includes a substantially martensitic structure. The at least one white iron member is fixed to a portion of the grouser.
Temperature control station for partially thermally treating a metal component
A tempering station for the partial heat treatment of a metal component, which includes an apparatus for the heat treatment of a metal component, and the use of at least one tangential nozzle in a tempering station for the partial heat treatment of a metal component. The tempering station for partial heat treatment of the metallic component comprises a processing plane disposed in the tempering station, the component being able to be disposed in said plane, and at least one nozzle which points to the processing plane and is provided and adapted for discharging a fluid stream for cooling at least a first sub-area of the component, wherein the at least one nozzle is a tangential nozzle. The tempering station and the apparatus make it possible in particular to adjust, as reliably and/or precisely as possible, a transition region between the different heat-treated sub-areas of the component, in particular to keep said region as small as possible.
CORROSION PITTING RESISTANT MARTENSITIC STAINLESS STEEL AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A method of making a forged, martensitic, stainless steel alloy is provided. The alloy is a forged preform of martensitic, pitting corrosion resistant stainless steel alloy comprising, by weight: 12.0 to 16.0 percent chromium; greater than 16.0 to 20.0 percent cobalt, 6.0 to 8.0 percent molybdenum, 1.0 to 3.0 percent nickel, 0.02 to 0.04 percent carbon; and the balance iron and incidental impurities. The alloy has a microstructure that comprises a retained austenite phase less than or equal to 2 percent by volume of the microstructure. The method heats the preform to a solutionizing temperature to form a solutionized microstructure. The preform is cooled with a liquid to room temperature. The preform is immersed in a cryo-liquid to transform the retained austenite phase in the microstructure to martensite. The preform is heated to a temperature of less than 600° F. for a time sufficient to form a tempered forged preform.
