INSULATING PRODUCT COMPRISING LOOSE-FILL MINERAL WOOL

Loose-fill insulating products may include mineral wool, in particular glass wool or rock wool, in the form of down, nodules, or flakes, which are obtainable by an aeration that allows the mineral wool to be expanded. The mass distribution of the agglomerates may be obtained by screening 2 to 5 g of insulating product using a vibrating sieve shaker with a stack of screens and a maximum amplitude of oscillation of 3 mm set to 1.5 to 2.5 mm, 1.8 to 2.2 mm, or 2 mm, for 5 minutes, satisfies a relationship

(% agglomerates 6-13)−(% agglomerates<6)≥5%,

where (% agglomerates 6-13) is mass percentage of agglomerates passing through 6 mm and 13 mm screens, and (% agglomerates<6) is mass percentage of agglomerates passing through a 6 mm screen.

FIBERS, WOVEN FABRICS INCLUDING THE FIBERS, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20210340695 · 2021-11-04 · ·

Fibers, yarns, woven fabric including the yarns and fibers, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. Fibers can include base material staple fibers and dissolvable or water-soluble fibers. At least the base material staple fiber is mixed and cleaned to form a base material web or sliver. The clean base material web or sliver is then intimately mixed with the dissolvable fibers in a blow room to form a homogenously-mixed base material/dissolvable material sliver. The homogenously-mixed base material/dissolvable material sliver is then blended again during drawing so as to produce a twice-mixed, ultra-homogenous yarn comprising base material and dissolvable material. A processing step can allow for removal of the dissolvable fibers to produce a yarn defining a plurality of pores that are uniformly distributed throughout the structure of the yarn.

The feed device for feeding individualized fibers or fiber flocks to a transport device which includes a first feed segment and a second feed segment for feeding in a starting material. Each feed segment has its own feed roller and each feed roller is individually actuatable. The feed device also includes an opening roller, which cooperates with the feed rollers of the first and second feed segments to individualize the starting material into fibers or fiber flocks. The first and second feed segments are arranged a certain distance apart in a circumferential direction of the opening roller.
